Inverarish Bathroom Resealing
Baths, showers and worktops in Inverarish need attention? We cut out the old, prepare the joints and apply the right sealant, with a 12-month guarantee.
- Gaps between the worktop and the wall
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
- Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
What the job involves on each surface
Kitchen worktops & upstands
Water behind a laminate worktop can make the edge swell. A continuous bead along the back keeps water out, as long as the worktop itself is firmly fixed.
Shower trays & enclosures
Shower trays are sealed to the wall, and enclosures are sealed to the tray and tiles. Both get soaked every time the shower runs, so each is cut out and renewed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Bathroom resealing for homes and businesses in Inverarish
A fresh bead of silicone changes how a bathroom looks more than most people expect. Black, patchy sealant makes clean tiles look tired, and a neat new joint puts that right in a short visit. Just as important, it closes the gaps water would otherwise get through. We work on kitchen worktops & upstands, shower trays & enclosures and sinks & splashbacks, and people most often call us about damp behind the bath or under the tray and gaps between the worktop and the wall.
Being further from a city doesn’t change the work: old material out, joints cleaned and dried, and a fresh, even finish. We just plan the journey and access beforehand.
Our work is backed for twelve months.

Why act early in Inverarish
Mould removers can fade the surface of a stained bead, but where mould is inside the silicone it usually comes back. Cutting it out and resealing with anti-fungal silicone is the fix that lasts. Around Inverarish, water from a failed joint in an older stone home can soak into timber and plaster, which is a far bigger job than the sealant.
What you pay reflects the work, not a rough estimate. That’s why we ask a few questions first.

What sealant work cannot fix
Some problems need a builder, plumber or other trade rather than us:
- Failed grout lines across the wall
- A tray or bath that’s cracked through
- A leaking waste, trap or valve
If you are not sure, just drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we’ll give you a straight answer.

How it works
The work is kept neat and contained to the joints we’re treating, so you can get on with your day. The job usually takes a couple of hours for a single bath or shower. Outdoor work around Inverarish depends on the weather, as sealant needs a dry surface, so external jobs may need to move if the day turns wet. Work indoors is not affected.
- We cover the area around the joints we’re working on.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
- Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
- The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
- Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive

Inverarish: your questions answered
Can you do bathroom resealing in Inverarish?
Yes, Inverarish is within the area we cover. Our work covers the whole of Scotland. You can drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us what needs doing.
Is Inverarish within the area you cover?
Yes. Inverarish is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers the whole of Scotland. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
My sealant has gone black. Can you sort it?
Yes, we replace the mouldy bead. Cleaning products may lighten it, but the lasting fix is new anti-fungal silicone on a clean, treated joint. Good ventilation helps keep it away.
Do you reseal kitchen worktops and sinks too?
Yes. The old sealant is cut out and the joint degreased, because cooking grease stops silicone sticking, then we reseal in a colour to suit.
Can tenants book the work?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Can you just seal over the old silicone?
No. New silicone will not bond to old silicone, so it peels away and hides mould and water. We always take the old sealant out completely.
How long before the new sealant can get wet?
Around 24 hours is typical, and we confirm the time for the product used. Getting it wet too early can spoil the new joint.
Do you work for letting agents?
Yes, we do. We work in homes, commercial premises and hotels, and we are fully insured.
Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
Hotels need rooms back in use, so the work can be planned room by room. We’ve worked in hotels as well as homes and businesses.
We also work for businesses, from offices to washrooms and kitchens. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.
What affects the quote in Inverarish
Every job gets its own quote. This is what makes a difference:
- Whether the work is at height
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- Any working-time requirements on site
There are no prices on our website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. For a quick quote, please drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk.
Helping us quote
A few details help us give you an accurate quote. When you get in contact, it helps to mention:
- If someone has resealed it before
- The problem you’ve noticed
- How we’d reach the joints
- The type of property
The more we know about the job, the more useful the quote. Let us know the location, the problem and roughly how many joints, and email photos if that’s easy.
Signs you need bathroom resealing in Inverarish
Mould is the reason many people want their sealant replaced. Steamy rooms that do not dry out give mould all the damp it needs, and mould that has grown into the silicone generally won’t clean off.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
- Failed sealant on the screen profile
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
- New sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting
For jobs in and around Inverarish, choosing the right material for each joint is as important as a tidy finish.
What to look for in a quote
- Is the old sealant removed completely?
- Is VAT in the price?
- When the joint can take water or movement
- What product goes in the joint
Bathrooms and kitchens in Inverarish
Inverarish is within about 1 mile of the coast. Coastal homes, holiday lets and guest houses can see heavy bathroom use in busy months, and sealant and grout that work that hard wear out sooner. Scotland’s water is generally soft, so sealant and grout see less limescale than in much of England. Mould is another matter: a bathroom that stays damp still turns sealant and grout black.
Around Inverarish, as everywhere, bathroom resealing is only as good as the preparation behind it.
