- A joint torn by a bath that flexes
- Two layers of silicone, both failing
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
Bathroom resealing for homes and businesses in Chartham
A shower joint gets soaked every day. Trays, enclosures, screen profiles and wet room floors all need a flexible, waterproof seal. Each gets a bead of anti-fungal sanitary silicone, tooled smooth so water runs off instead of sitting in a ridge. If you’re dealing with leaks into the floor or ceiling below and failed sealant on the screen profile, we can put it right, on sinks & splashbacks, wet rooms and baths alike.
Around Chartham, it’s houses and cottages rather than flats. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: everything old comes out before the new sealant or grout goes in.
Big or small, you get the same 12-month guarantee.

What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
We don’t publish a price list. The quote depends on:
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- The size of the job
- When we can work, for business premises
- The type of sealant required
Combining jobs into one visit is normally more efficient than separate visits. You’ll get one clear quote for the whole job.
Helping us quote
Photos help, but a description is a good start. Please mention:
- Whether it has been sealed before
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- Photos by email, if that’s easy
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
We don’t publish a price list. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To arrange one, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
Bathroom resealing in Chartham: local notes
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
Homes close to Church of St Mary include some older properties, and bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. Managing a site like Chartham Primary School? Then its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. Rented homes near Chartham station change hands often, and fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.

How the job changes by surface
Kitchen worktops & upstands
Kitchen joints need more degreasing than bathroom ones, because cooking grease stops sealant bonding. The extra cleaning is what makes the bead last.
Sinks & splashbacks
Around the sink, we use a product suited to kitchens, and a food-safe product where it’s needed. The joint is laid neatly so it’s easy to wipe.
Leave it or put it right?
Mould removers can fade the surface of a stained bead, but where mould is inside the silicone it normally comes back. The lasting answer is to remove the bead and start again. In a small place like Chartham, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. Size, access and the product the joint needs all play a part, and we will explain the quote if you ask.
Why Chartham clients choose us

- We leave the area clean and tidy
- White, clear, grey or coloured to suit, where the product allows

Chartham questions
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Chartham station?
Yes. We work for landlords and letting agents as well as householders. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and what needs doing, and we’ll give you a clear quote.
Do you cover smaller places like Chartham?
Yes. Chartham is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Does the resealing come with a guarantee?
Yes. We give a 12-month guarantee on every job, and we are fully insured.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little: the area around the joints is protected first, and we clear up the old sealant and our materials before we leave.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes, always, and completely. New sealant won’t bond properly to old, so the joint is cleaned back first.
Can I do it myself?
Sometimes. Preparation is everything: all the old sealant out, and a clean, dry joint. If it does not work out, we can redo it.
What should I tell you?
Only a few details: the address or postcode, what’s wrong and any access issues. Then call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
Do you reseal kitchen worktops and sinks too?
Yes. Where it’s needed by the sink, we use a food-safe sealant.
DIY sealant or a professional job?
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that is fine. We remove it and do the joint properly, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. Joints are cleaned back to sound surfaces and dried, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is, then guaranteed for a year.
When something else is needed
A few problems are outside what sealant work can do:
- A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded
- Failed grout lines across the wall
- A tray or bath that’s cracked through
Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will tell you honestly.
Joints and surfaces we work on
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & upstands
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Sinks & splashbacks
- Baths
- Basins & vanity units
How to look after the new joints
To keep the joints looking good and working properly:
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
- Run the extractor fan during and after every shower
- Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then
Treat the new bead gently when you clean: warm soapy water and a soft cloth do the job. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, because a damaged bead gives mould a foothold.
A failed kitchen joint is easy to miss. Water gets behind the upstand and into the edge of a laminate worktop, where it can make the board swell. Resealing before that happens protects the worktop.
The process
The work is kept neat and contained to the area we are working on, so you can get on with your day. The job normally takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen. Somewhere as small as Chartham, access is often the only tricky part. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
- Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
- The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.
How to prepare
- Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed
- Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
- Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints
