Bathroom resealing in Ashley
Across Ashley, the joints we reseal are the ones that fail in any home: bath edges, tray joints, basin backs and kitchen upstands. Every joint is cut out, cleaned and left dry before it’s resealed. We work on baths, sinks & splashbacks and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are gaps where the bath or tray has moved and cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone.
Being in a small place like Ashley makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.

Why deal with it now?
A failed joint gets more costly to put right the longer it’s left. Water that gets behind a bath soaks into the floor, the panel and sometimes the ceiling below, and that’s a far bigger job than a reseal. Around Ashley, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
There are no prices on our website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll talk you through it.

Can I do it myself?
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
Not every job suits DIY: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas call for the right materials, safe access and experience.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Ashley
From a single let to a portfolio, the work is the same standard: old sealant fully removed, joints prepared properly and a 12-month guarantee.
Hotels need rooms back in use, so we plan the work room by room. Hotel work is part of what we do, alongside homes and businesses.
Bathrooms and kitchens in Ashley
Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
In the older streets around St Mary's Church, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.

What happens on the day
We keep the work tidy and contained to the area we are working on, so you can carry on as normal. Expect the work to take a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen, and we explain the cure time before we leave. For a village or hamlet like Ashley, the journey is planned in advance: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- We protect the area and cut out all of the old sealant, including the film left on the tiles.
- We clean and degrease the joint and treat any mould.
- The joint is left to dry, and baths are filled with water first.
- We apply anti-fungal sanitary silicone in one even bead and tool it neatly.
- We tidy up and give you the cure time, normally around 24 hours.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us about any water getting in
- Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit
- Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints

Surface by surface
Shower trays & enclosures
Shower trays are sealed to the wall, and enclosures are sealed to the tray and tiles. Both get soaked every time the shower runs, so both are resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Sinks & splashbacks
Around the sink, we use a product suited to kitchens, including a food-safe sealant where that’s needed. The bead is finished smooth so it wipes clean.

It depends on the job. Inside work needs someone to give us access, and for outside work we will agree access with you when we book.

How long does a bath or shower reseal take?
It takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers. We will confirm how long your job needs when we quote.
How to look after the new joints
To keep the joints looking good and working properly:
- Never pick at the silicone with a blade
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Wipe the sealant dry after showering
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
Treat the new bead gently when you clean: a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth is enough. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, because a damaged bead gives mould a foothold.
Mould that starts as a few spots spreads through the bead. Once it’s deep in the silicone, cleaning generally will not remove it. Catching it early keeps it a simple reseal.
Do you need bathroom resealing in Ashley?
Sealing over old silicone is one of the commonest mistakes we find. Fresh silicone cannot grip the old bead underneath, so it lifts, lets water in and traps mould underneath.
If you can see any of these, it’s time to have the joints looked at:
- A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
- Failed sealant on the screen profile
- A joint torn by a bath that flexes
- Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
Rented homes near Mottisfont & Dunbridge station change hands often, and fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.
What your quote should include
- How much experience the applicator has
- Whether you can choose the colour
- How the surfaces are prepared before sealing
- Is the old sealant removed completely?
