Firgo Window Mastic
Professional window mastic in and around Firgo, with every bit of old sealant taken out first.
- White mastic on grey or black frames

- Damp patches on the reveal after heavy rain
Window mastic for homes and businesses in Firgo
There are two joints on most windows. The external joint is the weather seal; the internal joint closes the gap to the plaster and stops draughts. We seal one or both, depending on what’s needed. If you’re dealing with leaking joints at the ends of sills and rushed sealant from a window installation, we can help, whatever the surface.
Outdoor sealant needs dry, clean surfaces, so work on frames around Firgo is planned for dry weather. Tell us about access to every side of the house, including upper-floor windows.
Our work is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you are.

Questions from Firgo
I let a flat near Whitchurch (Hampshire) station. Can you help?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before work begins.
Do you cover smaller places like Firgo?
Yes. Firgo is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes. All of the old material is cut out and the joint cleaned before resealing.
What information do you need?
Just the basics: the address or postcode, what’s wrong and any access issues. Then ring 0345 464 0079 or email us.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes. All our work carries a 12-month guarantee, and we are ARBOMaster approved applicators.
What sealant do you use?
It depends on the joint: sanitary silicone where it gets wet, and sealants suited to movement or weather elsewhere. Brands we use include Arbo and Everbuild.
Are you insured?
Yes. Mr Mastic is fully insured.
Can new sealant go over the old?
No. New silicone won’t bond to old silicone, and anything trapped underneath, including mould and water, stays there. We remove it all first.
DIY versus a professional finish
A DIY attempt does not rule out a professional job. We cut it out and start again, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone doesn’t stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
Quotes for window mastic in Firgo
We do not publish a price list, because no two jobs are the same. The quote depends on:
- How many areas need sealing
- Whether the work is at height
- When we can work, for business premises
- The number and length of the joints
What you pay reflects the work, not guesswork. That’s why we ask about the job first and send you a clear quote before any work starts.
What we need to know
There’s no need for technical detail. Just tell us:
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- What’s wrong with the joints now
It all starts with a short chat. Describe the problem, the location and the size of the job. When it suits you, ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Why deal with it now?
Once mastic fails, rain can get between the frame and the wall. Left long enough, it can stain inside walls, spoil plaster and rot wooden frames. A reseal is a much smaller job. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Firgo, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: the amount of work, the access and the products needed, along with when we can work on site. Call for a quick quote and we will explain what it covers.

Firgo homes and the weather
London and the South East are among the drier parts of the UK, yet outdoor joints still have to be sealed dry, so jobs are booked with the weather in mind.
For landlords with property near Whitchurch (Hampshire) station, sound mastic around windows and doors keeps out the draughts and damp that tenants notice first. For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Mary, frames set in older brick or stone need a sealant that suits the wall as well as the frame. If you look after a building such as Testbourne Community School, its window and door frames need their mastic kept sound, just like a home’s.

How it works
Good joint work is mostly preparation, so that is where we spend the time. Joints are cleaned back and dried before anything new goes in. All told, the work takes a few hours for a handful of frames, longer for a whole house. In a small place like Firgo, access is usually the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- Each frame is looked over and we agree which ones need resealing.
- We remove the old mastic and clean the frame edge and wall.
- Deep gaps get closed-cell backing rod to set the depth.
- A flexible exterior sealant is applied in a colour to suit the frame.
- Every joint is tooled smooth and checked before we leave.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us about any water getting in
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can

Aftercare tips
Joint life depends on how it’s used and looked after. We suggest:
- Don’t use solvent cleaners on the joint
- Wash the frames with mild soapy water
- Keep paint off silicone joints
- Make sure the drainage slots aren’t blocked
Most silicone sealants will not take paint, so mention any painting plans before work begins. We can use a paintable sealant where that matters.
Water gets in quietly when mastic fails. You might not see it until plaster blows or a damp patch appears inside. Early resealing stops it reaching that point.
