- Cracked grout along the bath or tray
- Floor grout that will not come clean
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
Surface by surface
Bathroom wall tiles
Grout by the basin and bath tends to mark first. We can regroute just those areas or the whole wall.
Bathroom floors
Floor grout takes foot traffic as well as water. It wears and darkens over time.
How we handle regrouting in Waterlooville
A grout colour change can freshen a room without retiling. You might go from white to grey or back again. Just mention the colour you’d like when you call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email. We work on bathroom floors, kitchen splashbacks and shower walls, and common reasons people get in touch are gaps where the shower grout has gone and discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles.
Around Waterlooville, it’s mostly busy family bathrooms and kitchens, which is hard on sealant and grout. Black mould along the bath, a lifting bead by the sink or crumbling grout in the shower are the usual signs.

When it isn’t the sealant
Sealant is not the answer to every problem, and we’d rather say so up front. Sealant won’t put right:
- Waterproofing that has failed below the tiling
- Tiles that are chipped or split
- Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
If you’re not sure, just ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Do you need regrouting in Waterlooville?
Soap scum and limescale build up on grout and stick to it. The grout beneath can stain and weaken, which is when replacing it makes sense.
The most common problems we see are:
- Good tiles let down by tired grout
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
- Grout in corners that has cracked
- Gaps where the shower grout has gone
Letting a property close to Bedhampton station? Then stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right.
Questions to ask before you book
- How long the guarantee is
- How much experience the applicator has
- What the quote includes, VAT included or not
- How the joint is cleaned and prepared
Keeping the joints in good condition
Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. Our advice:
- Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
- Rinse soap off the tiles after each shower
- Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
- Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
Use a gentle cleaner on the grout and a soft brush. Keep harsh bleach and acid limescale removers away from it, as they can break grout down.
Once grout cracks, it tends to get worse. Water gets in behind and the tiles can start to loosen and early regrouting can avoid a much bigger job.
Waterlooville homes and their sealant
Waterlooville is within about 3 miles of the coast. Coastal homes, holiday lets and guest houses can see heavy bathroom use in busy months, and sealant and grout that work that hard wear out sooner. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
Schools such as Hart Plain Junior School are buildings too, and its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. If you live in an older home near Saint George's, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.

Should I try it myself first?
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
Not every job suits DIY: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs need the right product, the right access and the right method.
Leave it or put it right?
New grout smeared over the old does not bond well. A thin skin on top tends to break off, taking any repair with it. Raking out to a consistent depth gives the new grout something to hold. Draughts from a gap round a frame, damp under a sill or water behind a bath panel all start small, and they’re far easier to fix early.
Combining jobs into one visit is generally more efficient than separate visits. You will get one clear quote for the whole job.

Questions from Waterlooville
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Bedhampton station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can call 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before we start.
Is Waterlooville in your area for regrouting?
Yes, Waterlooville is within the area we cover. Our work covers London and the South East. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and tell us what needs doing.
Do you hold any approvals?
Yes. We hold ARBOMaster approved applicator status, and we are fully insured.
Will you leave a mess?
No. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.
What sealant do you use?
Products from Arbo and Everbuild, among others, chosen to suit the joint. We will tell you what we are using and why.
What if some of my tiles are loose?
If tiles are loose, something behind them has normally failed. Grout on its own won’t fix that and we’ll say so before going ahead.
Could my grout be a different colour after regrouting?
Yes. It’s the ideal time to change it. Mention the colour you have in mind when you call 0345 464 0079 or email us.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes, always, and completely. New silicone doesn’t stick to old silicone, so any old material comes out before anything new goes in.
How it works
On the day, we start by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. We protect the surfaces around the joints before any work begins. The work normally takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room. In Waterlooville, parking is rarely complicated, though it helps to know about driveways or restrictions, and mention if the work is upstairs, in a flat or high on the outside.
- We check the tiles for any that are hollow or loose.
- The old grout is removed to an even depth.
- We vacuum the joints so the new grout bonds.
- New grout is pressed into the joints and the tiles are cleaned.
- We finish with silicone in the moving joints.
How to prepare
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
- Keep pets and children clear of the area while we work
- Move anything stored near the joints
