Regrouting in Eastleigh
Regrouting suits shower walls, bathroom floors, kitchen splashbacks and wet rooms. Some jobs are a whole room, or just the area that has failed. Either way, tiled areas in Eastleigh are handled the same careful way. If you have cracked or crumbling grout lines and corners filled with grout instead of silicone, we can help.
In a town like Eastleigh, older streets sit alongside newer estates, so bathrooms range from long-standing suites to recent refits. Either way, the sealant and grout are generally the first things to fail.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by our 12-month guarantee.
Signs you need regrouting in Eastleigh
Grout used in corners or along the bath cracks as the bath or tray moves. Those joints should be silicone, and if they’re grouted, a crack soon lets water in.
People usually contact us after spotting something like this:
- Grout that’s cracking and breaking up
- Shower grout that has worn away
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
- Floor grout that has worn and darkened
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Norwood Primary School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

DIY sealant or a professional job?
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We cut it out and start again.
What regrouting looks like in Eastleigh
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Rented homes near Eastleigh station change hands often, and clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again. If you live in an older home near Church of the Resurrection, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.

Keeping the joints in good condition
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Rinse the tiles after showering
- Use a soft brush rather than a wire one
- Open a window or run the fan to clear steam
- Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
Leave the area unused for as long as we advise, so it can harden properly. From then on, a quick rinse after showering helps and let the room air.
Small problems with grout are quick to put right. Left, the same problem can let water through, so get it looked at when you notice it.

Eastleigh questions
Is Eastleigh in your area for regrouting?
Yes, Eastleigh is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. You can call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us what needs doing.
Is regrouting in Eastleigh guaranteed?
Every job comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever it is. We are also fully insured and ARBOMaster approved.
Which products do you use?
Products from Arbo and Everbuild, among others, picked for each joint. We’ll tell you what we are using and why.
Can tenants book the work?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are glad to have it sorted.
Is there any odour?
That depends on the sealant. Some products have a noticeable smell, others very little, and any smell fades as they cure.
Where do you work from?
We’re based in Crawley, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
Can you change the grout colour?
Yes. It’s the ideal time to change it. Tell us the colour you’d like when you ask for a quote.
Do you take out the old sealant first?
Yes. Sealing over the old bead is the commonest cause of early failure, so we never do it.
What happens on the day
Good joint work is mostly preparation, and we don’t rush it. Every joint is cleaned and dried before new material goes in. In total, it generally takes a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. For a job in Eastleigh, we need access to where the work is and somewhere nearby to park. If the job is outside, mention gates, side access and anything above ground floor.
- We check the tiles are sound and flag any that are loose or hollow.
- We rake out the old grout to an even depth, taking care of the tile edges.
- The joints are vacuumed and cleaned.
- New grout is worked into the joints and cleaned off the tile faces.
- Corners and edges are resealed with flexible silicone, not grout.
Preparing for the visit
- Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive

Advice
What sealant work cannot fix
Some problems need a builder, plumber or other trade rather than us:
- Movement in a stud wall or floor
- Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
- Damaged tiles that need replacing
Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will tell you honestly.

Why act early in Eastleigh
Colouring the surface of old grout is a quick cosmetic fix. They won’t fill gaps or keep water out and stains often come back through. Raking out and regrouting replaces the grout itself. Draughts from a gap round a frame, damp under a sill or water behind a bath panel all start small, and they’re far easier to fix early.
A few things move the cost up or down: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, whether mould needs treating, and whether the work is at height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
