Regrouting for Turnfurlong homes and businesses

Surface by surface

Bathroom wall tiles

We can regroute all the walls in a bathroom, depending on the area. You can change the colour at the same time.

Kitchen splashbacks

We can regroute a splashback with the kitchen left in place. The joint along the worktop is resealed with silicone.

When grout stays dark however much you clean it, the stain is often in the grout itself. New grout is the fix that lasts, and it’s a chance to change the colour too. If you are dealing with stained grout that cleaning won’t shift and a grout colour that no longer suits the room, we can help, whatever the surface.

Smaller places like Turnfurlong still have plenty of bathrooms that work hard every day. Whether it’s a cottage bathroom or a newer en suite, the approach is the same: all the old material out, the joint cleaned and dried, then new sealant or grout.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re not left on your own once the job is done.

Can I do it myself?

If you are set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.

Not every job suits DIY: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas need the right product, the right access and the right method.

Keeping the joints in good condition

Looking after new joints is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Rinse soap off the tiles after each shower
  • Keep the fan on after showering
  • Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
  • Look at the sealant in the corners now and then

If a tile starts to feel loose, get it looked at early. A loose tile cracks the grout around it and open a path for water.

Tiles can come away if failed grout is left. Once that happens, regrouting won’t fix it so early action pays.

Your questions about regrouting in Turnfurlong

Do you cover smaller places like Turnfurlong?

Yes. Turnfurlong is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Do you work in hotels near Turnfurlong?

Yes, hotels and guest houses are among the places we work. A room-by-room programme keeps most rooms in use while the work goes on.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Are you insured?

Yes, we’re fully insured.

Could my grout be a different colour after regrouting?

Yes. Because the old grout is raked out, the new colour goes all the way into the joint, not just the surface.

Do you remove the old sealant?

Yes. Sealing over old sealant is the main reason resealing fails early, and it’s something we never do.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every job comes with our one-year guarantee, and we are fully insured.

Do you hold any approvals?

Yes. We hold ARBOMaster approved applicator status and we are fully insured too.

Bathrooms and kitchens in Turnfurlong

Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in. There are hotels and other places to stay in and around Turnfurlong. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room.

If you let a flat or house near Aylesbury station, a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant. In the older streets around Holy Trinity, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. Managing a site like Turnfurlong Junior School? Then washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

Turnfurlong is about 1 mile south-east of Aylesbury, in Buckinghamshire. Jobs in Turnfurlong get the same care as everywhere else we work: the old material taken out, joints prepared properly and a 12-month guarantee. We cover 263 towns and villages across Buckinghamshire, large and small. Our Oxford page covers work nearby, about 19 miles away.

We cover every part of HP21 and HP20 for regrouting and the streets around it. Streets in the area include Byron Road, Croft Road and Stoke Road. When something else is needed

Sealant is not the answer to every problem, and we’d rather say so up front. It won’t solve:

  • Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
  • Leaks from pipes, valves or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • A floor or wall that keeps moving

If in doubt, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will say what we think before booking.

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses

Letting agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and the access arrangements and we’ll give you a quote.

Hotels need rooms back in use, so we plan the work room by room. Hotel work is part of what we do, alongside homes and businesses.

Why it’s worth doing now in Turnfurlong

Grouting over old grout rarely lasts. It sits thinly on top and soon flakes away. Raking out to a consistent depth gives the new grout something to hold. In a smaller place like Turnfurlong, wherever a wall is exposed, a failed outside joint is a real source of damp. Indoors, a failed seal lets water into floors and panels as it would anywhere.

Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: the amount of work, the access and the products needed, plus any working-time requirements on site. Call for a quick quote and we will go through it with you.

What happens on the day

You don’t need to clear the whole room or building, only the area right around the joints. Everything nearby is protected, and the job takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area for a typical job. Parking around Turnfurlong is usually easier than in a town centre, but mention any lanes, gates or long drives. For outside work, side access and the height of the joints help us plan.

  1. We agree the area to be regrouted and point out any loose tiles.
  2. Grout is raked out without chipping the tiles.
  3. The joints are cleaned out and vacuumed.
  4. We grout the joints and wipe the tiles clean.
  5. Internal corners and edges are resealed.

Preparing for the visit

  • Move anything stored near the joints
  • Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
