About our regrouting in South Ham
Our applicators rake out the old grout to an even depth, taking care not to chip the tile edges. After vacuuming, new grout goes in and the tiles are wiped clean, and the corners get fresh silicone. We work on kitchen splashbacks, shower walls and wet rooms, and people most often call us about grout washed out of a shower and old grout in a dated colour.
Around South Ham, you will mostly find houses and bungalows, some older and some much newer. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do in a big town.
You are covered for a year from the day we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

Different surfaces, different methods
Kitchen splashbacks
Grout behind the hob and sink works hard. We renew the grout and the worktop sealant.
Corners and edges
Corners flex as the building moves, so they get silicone, not grout.
Why act early in South Ham
Grout pens and paint-on colourants only cover the surface. They won’t fill gaps or keep water out, and stains can show through again. Raking out and regrouting replaces the grout itself. Homes in smaller places like South Ham can face more weather, and failed outside joints let damp into walls. Indoors, a failed seal lets water into floors and panels as it would anywhere.
Doing several joints on one visit is normally more efficient than separate visits, so tell us about everything that needs sealing. You will get one clear quote for the whole job.

Your questions about regrouting in South Ham
I let a flat near Basingstoke station. Can you help?
Yes. We work for landlords and agents as well as householders, and several properties can be quoted together. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the details for a clear quote.
Is South Ham in your area for regrouting?
Yes. We work across London and the South East, and South Ham is part of that. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us what needs doing.
Can you regrout if a few tiles are loose?
Loose tiles need refixing before regrouting. We’ll point them out at the start.
What goes in the corners, grout or silicone?
Corners get silicone, not grout. They flex, and grout there cracks.
Are you insured?
Yes. Full insurance covers our work, and we can confirm the details when we quote.
Can you regrout just the shower?
Yes, that is common. The shower generally fails first, so many people regrout just that part.
Are you ARBOMaster approved?
Yes. We’re ARBOMaster approved, the scheme for applicators of Arbo sealants.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes, always, and completely. New sealant won’t bond properly to old, so the joint is cleaned back first.
Bathrooms and kitchens in South Ham
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
For landlords with property near Basingstoke station, clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again. For an older house near a landmark such as Saint Peter's Church, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as St Anne's Catholic Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.

Landlords and agents in South Ham can book us as well as householders. Resealing between tenancies is a simple way to keep a property in good order.
The process
The work is kept neat and contained to the joints we’re treating, so you can carry on as normal. The job generally takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. In a smaller place like South Ham, parking is seldom the issue; lanes, gates and long drives are worth mentioning. For outside work, side access and the height of the joints help us plan.
- Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
- We rake out the grout evenly, protecting the tile edges.
- The joints are vacuumed clean.
- We regrout the joints and clean the tile faces.
- Silicone goes into the corners and along the edges.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear items away from the joints we are working on
- Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
Ask for a quote

DIY versus a professional finish
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We remove it and do the joint properly.
What we can’t put right
A few problems are outside what sealant work can do:
- A leaking shower valve or waste
- Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
- Movement in a stud wall or floor
If in doubt, phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll say what we think.
