Regrouting in Privett, Hampshire
Regrouting in Privett from a team with over 20 years’ experience. Rated 4.9 on Google from 180+ five-star reviews.
- Grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned
- Discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles
- Corners filled with grout instead of silicone
Surface by surface
Shower walls
A shower wall is soaked daily, so grout there works hardest. It’s often the first place grout washes out.
Kitchen splashbacks
We can regroute a splashback with the kitchen left in place. The worktop edge is finished with silicone.
Regrouting in Privett
Across Privett, we regrout tiled showers, bathrooms and kitchens. Out comes the old grout, the joints are cleaned and new grout goes in, and we finish by resealing the edges. Typical jobs include grout washed out of a shower and grout in corners that has cracked, on bathroom wall tiles, bathroom floors and wet rooms.
Smaller places like Privett still have plenty of bathrooms that work hard every day. Whether it’s a cottage bathroom or a newer en suite, the approach is the same: old sealant or grout cut out, joints cleaned and dried, and a fresh finish laid.
There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job, whatever its size.

What else we do in Privett
For landlords and businesses
Landlords and agents in Privett can book us as well as householders. Sealant work between tenants keeps a property looking cared for before the next move-in.
In hotels, rooms out of use cost money, so the work can be planned room by room around your bookings where we can. We have worked in hotels as well as homes and businesses.
Bathrooms and kitchens in Privett
Privett is close to the coast. Coastal homes, holiday lets and guest houses can see heavy bathroom use in busy months, and sealant and grout that work that hard wear out sooner. Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
If you look after a building such as Gomer Infant School, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes. If you let a flat or house near Portsmouth Harbour station, a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant.

How the visit works
When we get to you, we check the joints match what you told us. If we find something unexpected, we talk it through with you first. Most jobs then take a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. In a smaller place like Privett, parking is seldom the issue; lanes, gates and long drives are worth mentioning. For outside work, side access and the height of the joints help us plan.
- We agree the area to be regrouted and point out any loose tiles.
- We remove the old grout carefully.
- The joints are cleaned out and vacuumed.
- We grout the joints and wipe the tiles clean.
- We renew the silicone at the corners and edges.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any tricky access
- Clear items away from the joints we’re working on
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before

Related advice
What we are called out for in Privett
Grout that was put in corners cracks because those joints flex. They need flexible sealant, and if they’re grouted, a crack soon lets water in.
It’s worth asking for a quote if you see:
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
- Floor grout that has worn and darkened
- Gaps where the shower grout has gone
- Stained grout that cleaning will not shift
For an older house near a landmark such as St Faith's Church, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.
Before booking anyone
- How much experience the applicator has
- Which colour the sealant will be
- What insurance they hold
- Whether they seal over old material or remove it
Questions from Privett
I let a flat near Portsmouth Harbour station. Can you help?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us about the property, and we’ll give you a clear quote.
Will you come out to Privett?
Yes, Privett is covered. We work across London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
Will the sealant be renewed as well as the grout?
Usually, yes. The corners and edges should be silicone, and it makes sense to renew both together.
Do I need to be at home?
That depends on where the joints are. Inside work needs someone to give us access.
What information do you need?
The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. If you can, email a few pictures.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. Full insurance covers our work, and we can confirm the details when we quote.
Is it messy?
Tidy work is part of the job. Nearby surfaces are protected.
How soon can the shower be used after regrouting?
It varies with the products and the room. We’ll tell you exactly how long at the end of the visit.
Should I try it myself first?
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
A DIY attempt doesn’t rule out a professional job. We cut it out and start again.
What affects the cost of regrouting
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. What affects the quote:
- The product the joint needs
- Any working-time requirements on site
- The size of the job
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all make a difference.
Helping us quote
What to tell us when you ask for a quote:
- The rough size of the job
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- The problem you’ve noticed
Every job is quoted individually, so start by telling us what you need. Just call 0345 464 0079 or email us with the details, and pictures are welcome.
Looking after it afterwards
Looking after new joints is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
- Wipe or squeegee the shower walls
- Stick to mild products for cleaning grout
- Rinse the tiles after showering
A squeegee or cloth over the tiles after use keeps water off the grout. Run the extractor fan or open a window to help it dry out.
Tiles can come away if failed grout is left. By then, new grout alone is not enough so early action pays.
