Regrouting in Longstock
We cover Longstock for raking out old, cracked or stained grout and regrouting tiled walls and floors. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly and every job guaranteed for a year.
- Crumbling grout between the tiles
- Greasy, stained grout behind the hob
- Stained grout that cleaning won’t shift
Regrouting for homes and businesses in Longstock
We take the old grout out to a consistent depth, taking care not to chip the tile edges. The joints are then vacuumed, regrouted and cleaned off, with silicone renewed in the corners. We work on kitchen splashbacks, bathroom floors and bathroom wall tiles, and the jobs we see most are grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned and grout in corners that has cracked.
Somewhere as small as Longstock, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

Common problems we fix in Longstock
Grout that was put in corners cracks as the bath or tray moves. Those joints should be silicone, and when they are not, water gets in.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Splashback grout that has darkened
- Shower grout that has worn away
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
- Grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned
Managing a site like Test Valley School? Then washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

When something else is needed
We’d rather tell you now than do work that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Failed tanking or waterproofing under the tiles
- Damaged tiles that need replacing
- Leaks from pipes, valves or wastes (a plumber’s job)
Not sure which it is? You can phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Different surfaces, different methods
Bathroom floors
Regrouting a floor brightens the whole room. The edges where floor meets wall or bath get silicone.
Wet rooms
Wet room grout and sealant need to be in good order. We replace the grout and reseal the edges.
Bathrooms and kitchens in Longstock
Longstock has hotels and guest accommodation nearby. Hotel bathrooms are part of our work as well as homes, and can be done room by room. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Mary, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.

Longstock: your questions answered
Will you come out to Longstock?
Yes, we do. We work across London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
Is Longstock in your area for regrouting?
Yes, Longstock is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us what needs doing.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. Full insurance covers our work, and we can confirm the details when we quote.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are glad to have it sorted.
Will there be a smell?
It depends on the product. Some smell for a while, some hardly at all, and any smell fades as they cure.
How soon can the shower be used after regrouting?
You’ll get a clear time from us before we go. Both the grout and the silicone need time to cure before they get wet.
Which products do you use?
We choose the sealant for the joint, not the other way round. Movement, water and weather all affect the choice, and we’ll explain our choice.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. Larger jobs can be planned room by room or area by area.
What we do, step by step
We work through the job in order: protect, prepare, seal, tidy. Typically it takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room and we leave things clean and tidy. For a village or hamlet like Longstock, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
- We rake out the grout evenly, protecting the tile edges.
- The joints are vacuumed clean.
- We regrout the joints and clean the tile faces.
- Silicone goes into the corners and along the edges.
Preparing for the visit
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height
- Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
Ask for a quote
Getting a quote is simple: let us know the job and the location. A few pictures by email make the job easier to understand.

Aftercare tips
Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
- Rinse soap off the tiles after each shower
- Use a soft brush rather than a wire one
- Check the corner silicone every few months
Before we leave, you’ll know when the shower can be used. Please follow it, and avoid scrubbing the new grout hard for the first few days.
Small problems with grout are quick to put right. Left, the same problem can let water through, so get it looked at when you notice it.
What affects the cost of regrouting
We quote each job individually. This is what makes a difference:
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- When we can work, for business premises
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- The size of the job
We don’t show prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Asking for a quote
Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Please mention:
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- Roughly how big the job is
- The type of property
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
We don’t publish a price list, because every job is different. Instead, we send you a clear quote for your job. To get started, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
