Regrouting for homes and businesses in Kirkton of Craig
Our applicators rake out the old grout to an even depth, without damaging the edges of the tiles. The joints are then vacuumed, regrouted and cleaned off, with silicone renewed in the corners. We work on kitchen splashbacks, bathroom wall tiles and shower walls, and common reasons people get in touch are floor grout that won’t come clean and crumbling grout between the tiles.
For a place like Kirkton of Craig, the job is the same as anywhere: old material out, joints cleaned and dried, and a fresh, even finish. We just plan the journey and access beforehand.
All our work comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Aberdeenshire.

What the job involves on each surface
Bathroom floors
Regrouting a floor brightens the whole room. Floor-to-wall and bath joints are sealed, not grouted.
Bathroom wall tiles
Splash areas around basins and baths stain first. We can regroute just those areas or the whole wall.
What we cannot put right
Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- Failed tanking or waterproofing under the tiles
- Tiles that are chipped or split
If you are not sure, just send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
Surfaces we seal
- Bathroom floors
- Wet rooms
- Tiled floors

- Shower walls
- Kitchen splashbacks
Leave it or put it right?
New grout smeared over the old doesn’t bond well. A thin skin on top tends to break off, taking any repair with it. Removing the old grout to an even depth lets the new grout key in properly. In an older home around Kirkton of Craig, damp from a failed joint can get into timber and plaster, which is a far bigger job than the sealant.
Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: how much there is to do, how we reach it and what it needs, plus any working-time requirements on site. Call for a quick quote and we’ll go through it with you.

DIY sealant or a professional job?
Some jobs are best left to a professional: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs need the right product, the right access and the right method.
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.
What else we do in Kirkton of Craig
Kirkton of Craig homes and their sealant
Kirkton of Craig is within about 2 miles of the coast. Near the coast, holiday lets and guest houses can see bathrooms used by one guest after another, and sealant and grout that work that hard wear out sooner. Scotland’s water is generally soft, so sealant and grout see less limescale than in much of England. Mould is another matter: a bathroom that stays damp still turns sealant and grout black.
Managing a site like Montrose Academy? Then we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. Letting a property close to Montrose station? Then a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant. In the older streets around Church, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant.

For landlords and businesses
Mouldy or split sealant often shows up at the end of a tenancy, and it’s quick to put right between tenancies. Several properties can go on one quote.
A neglected joint can let water reach the structure, which matters even more when someone else lives there. Keeping joints in good order is simple maintenance.
How we quote for regrouting
The price is agreed before any work begins. It’s based on:
- Whether the work is at height
- Which sealant suits the joint
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- Any working-time requirements on site
There are no prices on our website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. For a quick quote, please drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk.
Helping us quote
Photos help, but a description is a good start. Please mention:
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- The problem you’ve noticed
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
Every job is quoted individually, so the first step is telling us about yours. Just send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk with the details, and photos are welcome.
