Regrouting near Iping

Regrouting for homes and businesses in Iping

We check the tiles before any grout comes out. Loose or hollow tiles are pointed out first, because regrouting won’t fix what’s behind them. Where the tiles are sound, regrouting gives the area a new lease of life. If you have kitchen splashback grout stained by grease and shower grout that has worn away, we can put it right.

Being in a small place like Iping makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.

Your job is guaranteed for a year, as with all our work.

What affects the cost of regrouting

Jobs vary more than people expect. The main factors:

  • The type of sealant required
  • Access and height
  • Any mould that needs treating
  • When we can work, for business premises

There are no prices on our website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. For a quick quote, please call 0345 464 0079 or email us.

What we need to know

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. When you ask for a quote, tell us:

  • If someone has resealed it before
  • How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
  • The type of property
  • The address or postcode of the job

If you are in Iping and need regrouting, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email. Tell us what the problem is and where, and you will get a clear quote before any work starts.

Honest limits

New sealant can’t fix everything, and we will tell you before we start. Sealant won’t put right:

  • Damaged tiles that need replacing
  • Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
  • A structure that flexes behind the tiles

If you are not sure, just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we seal

  • Shower walls
  • Wet rooms
  • Bathroom wall tiles
  • Kitchen splashbacks
  • Bathroom floors
  • Tiled floors

What we do, step by step

Our applicators work methodically: protection first, then preparation, sealing and a tidy-up. For most jobs that takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room and we leave things clean and tidy. Somewhere like Iping needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. We agree the area to be regrouted and point out any loose tiles.
  2. Grout is raked out without chipping the tiles.
  3. Dust is cleared from every joint.
  4. The new grout goes in, then the tile faces are cleaned.
  5. We renew the silicone at the corners and edges.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any tricky access
  • Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
  • Let us know about parking restrictions

How to look after the new joints

Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. Our advice:

  • Wipe water off the walls when you’re done
  • Run the extractor fan during and after a shower
  • Skip wire brushes and scourers
  • Keep an eye on the silicone along the edges

Give the new grout the time we tell you before using the shower, so it cures fully. After that, rinse the tiles after showering and let the room air.

Stains that won’t clean are a sign the grout is breaking down. At this point it’s a simple regrout while the tiles are still sound.

Why it’s worth doing now in Iping

Grout pens and paint-on colourants only cover the surface. They don’t fill cracks or stop water and stains often come back through. Raking out and regrouting replaces the grout itself. Around Iping, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.

Instead of a standard rate, we look at what your job involves: the amount of work, the old material and the access. You’ll know the price before we begin.

Surface by surface

Shower walls

The grout in a shower takes the brunt of the water. We rake it out and regrout, and reseal the corners.

Kitchen splashbacks

We can regroute a splashback with the kitchen left in place. The joint along the worktop is resealed with silicone.

Can I do it myself?

A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, like a short, easy-to-reach joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.

Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.

Common questions in Iping

Do you cover smaller places like Iping?

Yes, Iping is covered. We work across London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.

Is Iping in your area for regrouting?

Yes, Iping is within the area we cover. Our work covers London and the South East. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with a few details of the job, and we will give you a clear quote.

Is it messy?

Very little: the area around the joints is protected first, and we tidy up before we go.

Do I need to be at home?

We need access to the joints, so we will agree that with you when we book. For inside work, that normally means someone being in.

What guarantee comes with the work?

Our one-year guarantee applies to all our work. We’re also fully insured.

Do you work for hotels and businesses?

Yes, regularly. Larger jobs can be planned room by room or area by area to suit the site.

Do you reseal at the same time?

In most cases, yes. Corners and edges need flexible silicone, and it makes sense to renew both together.

Can you quote for more than one area?

Yes. Several rooms, windows or areas can go on one quote.

Bathrooms and kitchens in Iping

Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

Managing a site like Stedham Primary School? Then we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. For landlords with property near Liphook station, a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant. If you live in an older home near Church of St Mary, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.
