Regrouting in East End, Hampshire
We cover East End for raking out old, cracked or stained grout and regrouting tiled walls and floors. Old material cut out, joints cleaned and sealed neatly and every job guaranteed for a year.
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
- Stained grout that cleaning will not shift
- Greasy, stained grout behind the hob
DIY sealant or a professional job?
Some jobs are best left to a professional: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas need the right product, the right access and the right method.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
Regrouting for homes and businesses in East End
Stained, crumbling or cracked grout can make a sound bathroom look tired. With regrouting, the tiles stay and only the grout is renewed, so there’s no stripping out and no new tiles to choose. We work on wet rooms, bathroom wall tiles and tiled floors, and people most often call us about floor grout that has worn and darkened and discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles.
In a village or hamlet like East End, homes are often older cottages and farmhouses alongside a few newer houses. Movement in older walls and floors tends to show first as cracked grout or split sealant.
You are covered for a year from the day we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

Your questions about regrouting in East End
Is East End in your area for regrouting?
Yes. We work across London and the South East, and East End is part of that. You can call 0345 464 0079 or email us and let us know what needs doing.
Do you work for landlords with property near Lymington Pier station?
Yes, we work for letting agents and landlords. You can call 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before work begins.
Is it OK to seal over old sealant?
No. Fresh sealant does not stick to old sealant, and it traps any mould or water underneath. We remove it all first.
Do you regrout part of a bathroom, like the shower?
Yes, that’s common. The shower normally fails first, so it’s often the only area that needs doing.
How long should I wait before showering?
It varies with the products and the room. We will give you a time to follow when the job is done.
Do you grout the corners?
Corners get silicone, not grout. They flex, and grout there cracks.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. Full insurance covers our work, and we can confirm the details when we quote.
Do I have to be there?
If the work is inside, we need someone to let us in. Once we have agreed the job, you don’t need to watch us work.
How it works
Once we’re on site, we check the joints match what you told us. If anything is different, we explain it before carrying on. After that, the work takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room. In a small place like East End, access is usually the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
- We rake out the grout evenly, protecting the tile edges.
- We vacuum the joints so the new grout bonds.
- New grout is pressed into the joints and the tiles are cleaned.
- We finish with silicone in the moving joints.
Getting ready for the visit
- Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
- Clear items away from the joints we’re working on
- Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height
Getting a quote
Asking for a quote is easy: tell us what needs doing and where. Photos by email help us understand the job, and we’ll come back to you with a quote.
Related advice
Looking after it afterwards
Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
- Give the walls a quick rinse after use
- Keep the fan on after showering
- Have loose tiles looked at early
Leave the area unused for as long as we advise, so it cures fully. From then on, a quick rinse after showering helps and keep the room ventilated.
Once grout cracks, it tends to get worse. Water gets behind the tiles, and they can begin to come away and early regrouting can avoid a much bigger job.
Regrouting in East End: local notes
East End is close to the coast. Near the coast, holiday lets and guest houses can see bathrooms used by one guest after another, and sealant and grout that work that hard wear out sooner. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
Letting a property close to Lymington Pier station? Then clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again. For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Mary, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.

Do you need regrouting in East End?
Some grout fails because it was mixed or laid badly. Grout that was too wet, not packed in or cleaned off too hard tends to wash out early.
Keep an eye out for any of the following:
- Grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned
- Discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles
- Floor grout that has worn and darkened
- Splashback grout that has darkened
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as South Baddesley Church of England Primary School, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

For landlords and businesses
If you manage several properties in or around East End, jobs at different addresses can be quoted together. Send us the addresses and the work at each, and pictures by email help.
We work for letting agents and landlords as well as homeowners. Resealing between tenancies keeps a property looking cared for before the next move-in.
Why deal with it now?
It’s tempting to fill a few cracks yourself, but patched grout rarely matches the rest and the old grout carries on failing. Doing the full area gives you one colour and sound joints throughout. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like East End, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
No two jobs are quite the same, so we quote each one individually. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all make a difference, and we’ll explain the quote if you ask.

What the job involves on each surface
Kitchen splashbacks
The grout by the hob and sink takes most of the mess. We regroute and reseal the worktop joint.
Bathroom floors
Grout on a floor is walked on as well as wetted. It wears and darkens over time.
