Regrouting in Compton, Surrey
Professional regrouting in and around Compton, with old sealant always removed completely and a one-year guarantee.
- Crumbling grout between the tiles
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
- Greasy, stained grout behind the hob
Should I try it myself first?
Some jobs are best left to a professional: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs need the right product, the right access and the right method.
A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, such as a straightforward joint indoors. The common mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using far too much.
Regrouting in Compton, done properly
Grout is the filler between your tiles, while sealant goes where tiles meet a bath, tray or worktop. When grout cracks or washes out, water can get in behind the tiles. Our job is to rake it out and put new grout in, then reseal the corners and edges. We work on shower walls, bathroom wall tiles and bathroom floors, and the jobs we see most are good tiles let down by tired grout and grout in corners that has cracked.
Being in a small place like Compton makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.
All of our work is guaranteed for twelve months, in Compton and everywhere else we cover.

FAQs for Compton
Is Compton within the area you cover?
Yes, Compton is covered. Our work covers London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
I let a flat near Farnham station. Can you help?
Yes, landlords and agents are among the people we work for, and several properties can go on one quote. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and what needs doing, and we’ll give you a clear price.
Can new sealant go over the old?
No. New silicone will not bond to old silicone, and anything trapped underneath, including mould and water, stays there. We remove it all first.
Do you work for hotels and businesses?
Yes. We can plan bigger jobs in stages to suit the site.
Do you grout the corners?
We use silicone in corners and along edges. Grout in a moving joint soon cracks.
How long does the job take?
That depends on how much there is to do, but most jobs take a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. We will tell you when we quote.
What guarantee comes with the work?
Our 12-month guarantee applies to all our work, and we’re fully insured.
Which products do you use?
It depends on the joint: sanitary silicone where it gets wet, and sealants suited to movement or weather elsewhere. Brands we use include Arbo and Everbuild.
Regrouting around Compton
There are hotels and other places to stay in and around Compton. Hotel bathrooms are part of our work as well as homes, and can be done room by room. Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Homes close to St Marys Parish Church include some older properties, and timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. If you let a flat or house near Farnham station, stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right.

Signs you need regrouting in Compton
A poor original job is a common cause. If it was mixed too wet or not pressed in firmly tends to wash out early.
Common reasons people contact us are:
- Shower grout that has worn away
- Cracked grout along the bath or tray
- Crumbling grout between the tiles
- Grout stained black or orange that won’t clean
Schools such as South Farnham School are buildings too, and we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.

When something else is needed
Sealant isn’t the answer to every problem, and we’d rather say so up front. It won’t solve:
- A leaking shower valve or waste
- Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
- A structure that flexes behind the tiles
Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will tell you honestly.

What happens on the day
There is not much for you to do on the day. Point us to the joints and we’ll get on with it. The job generally takes a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room, including the tidy-up. In a small place like Compton, access is usually the main thing to plan. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
- The old grout is removed to an even depth.
- We vacuum the joints so the new grout bonds.
- New grout is pressed into the joints and the tiles are cleaned.
- Silicone goes into the corners and along the edges.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know about parking restrictions
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children

How to look after the new joints
Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Do not use strong acidic cleaners on grout
- Get any tile that moves checked promptly
- Rinse the tiles after showering
- Keep an eye on the silicone along the edges
Have any tile that moves checked straight away. A loose tile cracks the grout around it and open a path for water.
Small problems with grout are quick to put right. Left for a few years, they can become a leak, so get it looked at when you notice it.
How we quote for regrouting
Call for a quick quote. The main things that affect it are:
- The number and length of the joints
- The product the joint needs
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- Whether the work is at height
Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: the amount of work, the access and the products needed, plus any working-time requirements on site. Ask us for a quote and we’ll go through it with you.
Asking for a quote
There’s no need for technical detail. Just tell us:
- What’s wrong with the joints now
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- How we’d reach the joints
- If someone has resealed it before
Need a quote? Please ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with a few details. You will know what we plan to do, and what it will cost, before any work begins.
