Bathroom resealing in GU9: how it works
Resealing is a small job that makes a big difference. Black, patchy sealant makes clean tiles look tired, and a neat new joint puts that right in a short visit. It also seals the gaps that let water behind the bath. We work on wet rooms, baths and shower trays & enclosures, and common reasons people get in touch are leaking joints on a shower screen and gaps where the bath or tray has moved.
We keep the work tidy and contained to the joints we’re treating, so you can get on with your day. The job generally takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen, and we tell you how long to leave it before we go.
- Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
- Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.

Bathroom resealing across GU9: local notes
From Farnham, Lower Bourne and Upper Hale to its smaller places, homes across GU9 have bathrooms and kitchens of every age. Sealant and grout wear out in all of them, whether it’s a family bathroom, a rented flat or a hotel en suite.
The South East is one of the drier parts of the UK, though outside sealant still needs a dry, clean joint, so work across GU9 is planned around the weather.
Farnham: Letting a property close to Farnham station? Then a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for. In the older streets around St Joan of Arc's Church, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.
What happens if it’s left?
Fresh sealant smartens a bathroom or kitchen with very little disruption, which matters if you are letting a property or selling it. Lumpy sealant with smears on the tiles has the opposite effect.

How the job changes by surface
Shower trays & enclosures
Shower trays are sealed to the wall, and enclosures are sealed to the tray and tiles. Both get soaked every time the shower runs, so each is cut out and renewed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Wet rooms
If a wet room leaks, the cause may be the tanking or the drain rather than the joints. We check the joints and say so if the fault looks to be elsewhere.
DIY versus a professional finish
If you’re set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
Some jobs are best left to a professional: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs call for the right materials, safe access and experience.
When it is not the sealant
New sealant cannot fix everything, and we will tell you before we start. It will not solve:
- A bath or tray that moves because it isn’t properly supported
- Cracked or missing grout between tiles (that is regrouting)
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
Why it fails
Older sealant shrinks and hardens. In kitchens it often shrinks away from the back edge, leaving a thin gap where water and food collect. Hot pans and harsh cleaners do not help.
The problems people normally mention when they call are:
- A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
Common questions in GU9
Do you work in GU9?
Yes. We work in GU9, as part of our work across South East England, London and Scotland. To book, ring 0345 464 0079 or email us.
How long does it take to reseal a bath or shower?
It takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers. We’ll confirm how long your job needs when we quote.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. We’re fully insured.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. Commercial and hotel work is a large part of what we do. Working times can be discussed when we quote.
How long before the new sealant can get wet?
We give you the cure time before we leave, and it’s generally around 24 hours. Using it sooner can damage the bead.
Do you do kitchens as well as bathrooms?
Yes. Worktops, sinks and splashbacks are all part of the job, in a kitchen-suitable sealant, matched to the worktop where it’s on show.
Do you guarantee your resealing?
Yes. Our one-year guarantee covers every job, and we are ARBOMaster approved applicators.
