Bathroom Resealing in Lower Bourne
Bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing for homes and businesses in Lower Bourne and across Surrey. ARBOMaster approved applicators, fully insured, with a one-year guarantee.
- Leaking joints on a shower screen
- Leaks into the floor or ceiling below
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
When to call us in Lower Bourne
Plenty of failed sealant has been laid over the top of older sealant. Fresh silicone cannot grip the old bead underneath, so it peels, leaks and hides mould behind it.
The most common problems we see are:
- Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
- Smears of silicone across the tiles
- Splits where the tray meets the wall
If you live in an older home near St Martin by the Green, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.
What to look for in a quote
- How the joint is cleaned and prepared
- How the colour is chosen
- Whether they’re fully insured
- Whether they seal over old material or remove it
Bathroom resealing in Lower Bourne, done properly
With over 20 years in the trade, we reseal baths, showers and kitchens in homes across Lower Bourne. We’re ARBOMaster approved and fully insured, and the work comes with a 12-month guarantee. Common call-outs are for gaps between the worktop and the wall and a messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal, on baths, basins & vanity units and sinks & splashbacks.
Even in a smaller place like Lower Bourne, bathrooms and kitchens see heavy daily use. Older or newer, every room gets the same approach: all the old material out, the joint cleaned and dried, then new sealant or grout.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we’ll sort it.

How we quote for bathroom resealing
The price is agreed before any work begins. It’s based on:
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- How easy the joints are to reach
- Any working-time requirements on site
- How much there is to do
Leaving a failed joint generally makes the job bigger, not smaller, because water and mould keep working on it. If you are unsure, call 0345 464 0079 or email us for an honest opinion and a quote.
Helping us quote
To help us quote quickly, let us know:
- The type of property
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
- What’s wrong with the joints now
- If someone has resealed it before
To get a quote, phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and tell us where the job is and what the problem looks like. We will give you a clear quote before any work starts.
What happens on the day
A visit follows a simple pattern: we look at the joints together, mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, carry out the job and clear up. It usually takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom. In a smaller place like Lower Bourne, parking is seldom the issue; lanes, gates and long drives are worth mentioning. If the job is outside, tell us about side access and how high the joints are.
- We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
- Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you’re told the cure time, generally around 24 hours.
Before we arrive
- Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
- Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts

Your questions about bathroom resealing in Lower Bourne
Do you work in hotels near Lower Bourne?
Yes, we work for hotels as well as homes and businesses. A room-by-room programme keeps most rooms in use while the work goes on.
Do you cover smaller places like Lower Bourne?
Yes, Lower Bourne is covered. Our work covers London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Where is Mr Mastic based?
Our base is in Crawley, West Sussex, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
Are you ARBOMaster approved?
Yes. We’re an ARBOMaster approved applicator, the approved applicator scheme for Arbo sealants.
What does bathroom resealing cost?
We don’t publish prices, because the cost depends on the job: its size, the old material, access and the product needed. We agree the price before any work begins.
Will you leave a mess?
We keep the work tidy. We protect what’s around the joints, and we clear up when we’re done.
Do the sealants smell?
It depends on the product. Some smell for a while, some hardly at all.
Is it OK to put new sealant on top of the old bead?
No. Fresh silicone cannot stick to the old bead, so it peels away and hides mould and water. We always take the old sealant out completely.
What we can’t put right
New sealant cannot fix everything, and we’ll tell you before any work starts. Sealant will not put right:
- A bath or tray that moves because it is not properly supported
- Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
If you are not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer.

How to look after the new joints
Joint life depends on how it’s used and looked after. Here’s what we suggest:
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Stick to a soft cloth and a mild cleaner
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Avoid abrasive pads on the sealant
Have a look at the joints every few months. A small split or a corner lifting is easy to spot, and if anything looks wrong, just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us.
Do not wait for a refit to deal with failed sealant. Like paintwork, sealant needs renewing from time to time, and replacing it when it fails protects the rest of the room.

Lower Bourne has hotels and guest accommodation nearby. Hotel bathrooms are part of our work as well as homes, and can be done room by room.
If you let a flat or house near Farnham station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay. DIY sealant or a professional job?
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it does not work out, we can still put it right.
A DIY attempt does not rule out a professional job. We remove it and do the joint properly, so just mention it when you contact us.
