What affects the quote in Clapham

Your quote is based on your job. We look at:

  • The type of sealant required
  • How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
  • Mould in or behind the old joints
  • How easy the joints are to reach

Instead of a standard rate, we look at what your job involves: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. You’ll know the price before we begin.

Asking for a quote

Photos help, but a description is a good start. Please mention:

  • The problem you’ve noticed
  • The type of property
  • Roughly how big the job is
  • Any access issues, like height or stairs

We don’t publish a price list, as no two jobs are quite the same. Instead, we send you a clear quote for your job. To arrange one, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

Regrouting in Clapham, done properly

Regrouting suits shower walls, bathroom floors, kitchen splashbacks and wet rooms. Some jobs are a whole room, or just the area that has failed. Either way, tiled areas in Clapham are handled the same careful way. If you have old grout in a dated colour and discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles, we can put it right, whatever the surface.

Being in a small place like Clapham makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by our 12-month guarantee in Clapham and across West Sussex.

When to call us in Clapham

Movement behind the tiles cracks grout. Loose tiles, bouncy floors and timber walls can all do it, which is why we check the tiles first.

The problems people normally mention when they call are:

  • Grout that is cracking and breaking up
  • Kitchen splashback grout stained by grease
  • Grout washed out of a shower
  • Old grout in a dated colour

For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Clapham and Patching CofE Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.

What your quote should include

  • What happens if the job turns out different
  • Is the old sealant removed completely?
  • How the surfaces are prepared before sealing
  • What the quote includes, VAT included or not

Our hiring checklist

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to clear the whole room or building before we come, just the space around the work. Everything nearby is protected, and the job takes a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room for a typical job. Somewhere like Clapham needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
  2. The old grout is removed to an even depth.
  3. The joints are vacuumed clean.
  4. We regrout the joints and clean the tile faces.
  5. We finish with silicone in the moving joints.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know about parking restrictions
  • Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
  • Keep children and pets away from the work area

How to look after the new joints

A little care helps the new joints last. Our advice:

  • Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
  • Stick to mild products for cleaning grout
  • Rinse soap off the tiles after each shower
  • Run the extractor fan during and after a shower

Keep an eye on the silicone in the corners. It’s the part that moves, so it’s normally the first thing to need attention.

Grout that’s washing out of a shower shouldn’t be left. Each shower drives water into the open joints, and that water can reach the wall or the floor below.

What happens if it’s left?

Patching a few joints can look like a quick win, but the patches often don’t match, and the old grout keeps failing around them. Doing the full area gives you one colour and sound joints throughout. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Clapham, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.

No two jobs are quite the same, so we quote each one individually. Size, access and the product the joint needs all play a part, and we’ll explain the quote if you ask.

Why us?

  • Trusted Arbo and Everbuild sealants
  • Old sealant always removed completely
  • Every job guaranteed for a year
  • Full insurance on every job

Landlord and commercial work in Clapham

Hotels need rooms back in use, so the work can be planned room by room around your bookings where we can. We’ve worked in hotels as well as homes and businesses.

We also work for property managers and facilities teams in Clapham and across West Sussex. Several sites can be quoted together.

Regrouting around Clapham

Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

Homes close to The Parish Church of St Mary include some older properties, and older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. Letting a property close to Goring-By-Sea station? Then stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right.

Clapham is about 3 miles north-west of Worthing, in West Sussex. Anywhere in BN13, we cover regrouting for homes and businesses. We cover 371 towns and villages across West Sussex, large and small. Our Brighton page covers work nearby, about 14 miles away.

Here we cover the BN13 postcode area for regrouting. If you need regrouting at a property on The Street, Long Furlong and Church Close or anywhere close by, our applicators can take on the job. With the A280 close by, Clapham is easy for our applicators to reach for regrouting. We also cover Patching (1 mile north-west), Cote (1 mile east), Hammerpot (2 miles west), Durrington (2 miles south-east) and Hangleton (2 miles south). FAQs for Clapham

Can you help a landlord with a rental near Goring-By-Sea station?

Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before any work starts.

Do you cover smaller places like Clapham?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Our work covers London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee.

Is it worth trying it myself?

It depends on the job. Work at height, movement joints, fire-rated gaps and large areas are best left to a professional.

What should I tell you?

The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. If you can, email a few photos.

Is regrouting a chance to pick a new grout colour?

Yes, plenty of people choose to. A darker grout hides marks better, while lighter grout brightens a room.

Where are you based?

We are a Crawley-based firm, with over 20 years’ experience. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.

Is resealing included with regrouting?

In most cases, yes. The corners and edges should be silicone, and it makes sense to renew both together.

When it is not the sealant

Sealant is not the answer to every problem, and we’d rather say so up front. It will not solve:

  • Failed tanking or waterproofing under the tiles
  • Tiles that are chipped or split
  • A floor or wall that keeps moving

Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will tell you honestly before you book.
