- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
- Floor grout that will not come clean
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
What we’re called out for in Carronbridge
Strong cleaning products and hard scrubbing slowly erode grout. Some bleaches and acid descalers break grout down over time, leaving the joints sunken and rough.
It’s worth asking for a quote if you see:
- Good tiles let down by tired grout
- Floor grout that has worn and darkened
- Crumbling grout between the tiles
- Splashback grout that has darkened
If you look after a building such as Wallace Hall Academy, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
Questions to ask before you book
- Are they insured?
- What the quote includes, VAT included or not
- Whether all the old sealant comes out first
- How long to leave it before use
Regrouting for homes and businesses in Carronbridge
Regrouting suits shower walls, bathroom floors, kitchen splashbacks and wet rooms. Some jobs are a whole room, others just the shower. Either way, tiled areas in Carronbridge are handled the same careful way. We are often asked to deal with good tiles let down by tired grout and old grout in a dated colour, across wet rooms, bathroom floors and tiled floors.
Bathrooms in smaller places like Carronbridge work just as hard as those in the cities. Limescale is less of a problem with Scotland’s generally soft water, but mould still takes hold in damp sealant and grout.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we will sort it.

Should I try it myself first?
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
Not every job suits DIY: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs need the right product, the right access and the right method.
Regrouting around Carronbridge
Scottish Water supplies are generally soft, so limescale is less of a problem than in hard-water areas. Mould is another matter: a bathroom that stays damp still turns sealant and grout black. Private landlords in Scotland must be registered and meet the Repairing Standard, which covers keeping fixtures and fittings in a reasonable state of repair. Failed sealant around a bath or shower is worth sorting between tenancies.

Carronbridge: your questions answered
Is there a guarantee on regrouting in Carronbridge?
All our work, in Carronbridge and everywhere else, comes with a 12-month guarantee. We’re also fully insured and ARBOMaster approved.
Do you cover smaller places like Carronbridge?
Yes, Carronbridge is covered. Our work covers the whole of Scotland, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Are you an approved applicator?
Yes. Mr Mastic is an ARBOMaster approved applicator and we’re fully insured too.
Can you regrout if a few tiles are loose?
Loose tiles need refixing before regrouting. We’ll point them out at the start.
Do you regrout part of a bathroom, like the shower?
We can. We will check the other tiled areas as well and tell you if anything else needs attention.
Will it make a mess?
Tidy work is part of the job. We protect what’s around the joints, and we clear up when we are done.
Do I need to be at home?
That depends on where the joints are. For work indoors, someone needs to let us in.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes, regularly. Several properties can go on one quote, and between tenancies is a good time for the work.
What happens on the day
Every visit runs the same way: we look at the joints together, protect the area around them, do the work and clear up. Most jobs take a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. Outside jobs in Carronbridge need a dry day, because sealant won’t bond to a wet joint, so an outdoor job can move if the forecast changes. Indoor work goes ahead whatever the weather.
- We start by checking the tiles for any that are loose or hollow.
- Old grout is raked out to a consistent depth without chipping the tiles.
- Dust and debris are vacuumed out of every joint.
- Fresh grout goes into the joints and the tile faces are wiped clean.
- We reseal the internal corners and edges with silicone.
How to prepare
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
- Move anything stored near the joints

The more we know about the job, the more useful the quote. Let us know the location, the problem and roughly how many joints, and add pictures by email if you can.
Advice
How we quote for regrouting
We do not publish a price list, because jobs vary so much. What we look at:
- When we can work, for business premises
- The size of the job
- The number of rooms or windows
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: the old material and how easily it comes out, whether mould needs treating, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
What we need to know
There’s no need for technical detail. Just tell us:
- The rough size of the job
- Where the property is
- Whether it’s a home or a business
- Photos by email, if that is easy
Asking for a quote is easy: tell us what needs doing and where. A few pictures by email make the job easier to understand.
Keeping the joints in good condition
Good habits help new joints last longer. Our tips:
- Give the walls a quick rinse after use
- Use a soft brush rather than a wire one
- Clean grout with a mild bathroom cleaner
- Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers on grout
Wipe the tiles down after a shower stops soap and water sitting on the grout. Ventilate the room well so the grout dries between uses.
Fixing grout early is a small job. Left, the same problem can let water through so it’s worth dealing with as soon as you spot it.
