Our bathroom resealing service in TN2
Mr Mastic has more than 20 years’ experience of sealant work, and our applicators reseal bathrooms and kitchens across TN2. We are fully insured ARBOMaster approved applicators, and every job carries our one-year guarantee. We work on sinks & splashbacks, basins & vanity units and wet rooms, and people most often call us about black spots spreading through the bead and a messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal.
On the day, we start by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Surfaces next to the work are protected before any work begins. The work generally takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom.
- First, each joint is checked for movement and signs of water.
- Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you’re told the cure time, generally around 24 hours.
How we quote
The cost depends on the size of the job, how much old material has to come out and access to the work. You will have a clear quote before any work starts, so you know where you stand.
Why clients in TN2 choose us
- Anti-fungal sanitary silicone in wet areas
- Quality sealants from Arbo and Everbuild

How to get a quote

Bathroom resealing across TN2: local notes
Across TN2, from Royal Tunbridge Wells, Southborough and Broadwater Down outwards, we see bathrooms and kitchens of every age. Family bathrooms, rented flats and hotel en suites all need their sealant and grout renewing in time.
The South East is one of the drier parts of the UK, though outside sealant still needs a dry, clean joint, so work across TN2 is planned around the weather.
Royal Tunbridge Wells: If you live in an older home near Parish Church of St Barnabas, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. Schools such as St Barnabas CofE VA Primary School are buildings too, and we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
Honest limits
New sealant can’t fix everything, and we will tell you before any work starts. It won’t solve:
- Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler
- Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant
- A tray or bath that is cracked through
What we are called out for in TN2
Not every tube in the shop is meant for a shower. Acrylic caulk and general-purpose sealants aren’t designed for a joint that’s wet every day, so they stain, crack or go mouldy before long. Wet areas call for a sanitary silicone with an anti-fungal additive.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
- Water getting behind the bath panel
- Sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away
- Water escaping at the shower enclosure
What happens if it’s left?
Bleach and mould sprays may lighten black marks for a while, but where mould is inside the silicone it usually comes back. The lasting answer is to remove the bead and start again.
What your quote should include
- How much experience the applicator has
- How long to leave it before use
- Whether VAT is included
- Whether you can choose the colour
DIY sealant or a professional job?
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.
A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, such as a straightforward joint indoors. The common mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using far too much.
What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
Every job gets its own quote. This is what makes a difference:
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- Whether the work is at height
- Which sealant suits the joint
- The amount of work
Homes and businesses are quoted the same way: the amount of work, the access and the products needed, along with when we can work on site. Call for a quick quote and we will go through it with you.
Asking for a quote
A few details help us give you an accurate quote. When you ask for a quote, tell us:
- Whether it has been sealed before
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
- Photos by email, if that is easy
- The type of property
Want a quote for bathroom resealing? Please phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and tell us about the job. We will explain what we’d do and send you a clear quote before any work starts.
Common questions in TN2
Does the resealing come with a guarantee?
Yes. Our 12-month guarantee covers every job, and we’re ARBOMaster approved applicators.
Do you cover TN2?
Yes. We cover TN2 and the rest of Kent, as part of our work across South East England, London and Scotland. For a quote, call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Will it make a mess?
Very little: the area around the joints is protected first, and we tidy up before we go.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. Mr Mastic is fully insured, with over 20 years’ experience in sealant work.
What information do you need?
Tell us what needs doing and where. We’ll ask anything else we need to know.
Do you do kitchens as well as bathrooms?
Yes. Worktops, sinks and splashbacks are all part of the job, in a kitchen-suitable sealant, matched to the worktop where it’s on show.
Will there be a smell?
There can be a smell while the sealant cures, but it fades. Opening a window helps.
