How bathroom resealing works in HS3
We fill the bath before sealing it. A full bath sits slightly lower than an empty one, so the new joint isn’t pulled apart the first time it’s used. It’s a small step that rushed reseals tend to skip. We’re often asked to deal with gaps where the bath or tray has moved and failed sealant on the screen profile, on basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and sinks & splashbacks.
You do not need to clear the whole room or building, only the area right around the joints. We protect the rest, and the job takes a couple of hours for a single bath or shower in most cases.
- We protect the area and cut out all of the old sealant, including the film left on the tiles.
- We clean and degrease the joint and treat any mould.
- Once it’s dry, any bath is filled so the bead is laid with it at its heaviest.
- New anti-fungal silicone goes on in a colour to suit and is tooled to a clean finish.
- Finally we tidy up and explain the cure time before we leave.
What you will pay
What it costs depends on the size of the job, how hard the old material is to remove and how easy the joints are to reach. You will have a clear quote before any work starts, so you know where you stand.
What you get with us
- Anti-fungal silicone where joints get wet
- White, clear, grey or coloured to suit, where the product allows
- We never seal over old sealant
- We agree the colour with you first
How to get a quote

DIY sealant or a professional job?
Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and does not move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. Joints are cleaned back to sound surfaces and dried, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions, and the work is guaranteed for a year.
How we quote for bathroom resealing
There’s no set price list, because no two jobs are the same. The quote depends on:
- When we can work, for business premises
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- How many areas need sealing
- How much there is to do
Combining jobs into one visit generally makes better use of the time than several visits. You will get one clear quote for the whole job.
Helping us quote
A few details help us give you an accurate quote. When you ask for a quote, tell us:
- Photos by email, if that is easy
- The problem you’ve noticed
- Whether it has been sealed before
- The rough size of the job
Getting a quote is simple: let us know what needs doing and where, and roughly how big it is. Photos by email help us understand the job.
Surface by surface
Shower trays & enclosures
A tray that rocks will split any sealant. We check for movement before we reseal, and tell you if it needs re-bedding first.
Basins & vanity units
A vanity top has a joint along the wall and sometimes at the sides. Water that gets behind can damage the unit, so the joint is sealed in one unbroken line.
Why act early?
Dealing with sealant early is a short job: it takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen. Left until water gets through, the job can grow to lifting panels, drying out and decorating.
Comparing quotes
- How the colour is chosen
- How long the guarantee is
- Who turns up on the day
- What preparation is included
What sealant work cannot fix
New sealant cannot fix everything, and we’ll tell you before work begins. Sealant won’t put right:
- Failed grout lines across the wall
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- A bath or tray that moves because it is not properly supported
