Our bathroom resealing service in G70
A fresh bead of silicone changes how a bathroom looks more than most people expect. Mouldy silicone makes even a new bathroom look neglected, and a clean white or clear joint fixes it quickly. Just as important, it closes the gaps water would otherwise get through. We work on shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & upstands and wet rooms, and people most often call us about gaps where the bath or tray has moved and leaks into the floor or ceiling below.
We keep the work tidy and contained to the joints we’re treating, so you can get on with your day. Expect the work to take two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is, and we tell you how long to leave it before we go.
- First the area is protected and every bit of old sealant removed.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- Once it’s dry, any bath is filled so the bead is laid with it at its heaviest.
- A single bead of anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied and tooled smooth.
- We tidy up and give you the cure time, usually around 24 hours.
How we quote
The cost reflects the work involved, not a rough estimate. That is why we ask a few questions first and give you a clear price before we start.
Why clients in G70 choose us
- Sanitary silicone with an anti-fungal additive in wet areas
- Sealant colour chosen to suit
- We agree the colour with you first
- A choice of colours where the product allows

Carbrain: Managing a site like Cumbernauld High School? Then its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. Rented homes near Cumbernauld station change hands often, and a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for.
How the job changes by surface
Sinks & splashbacks
Next to the sink, the sealant has to cope with constant water, and a food-safe product where it’s needed. The joint is laid neatly so it’s easy to wipe.
Baths
Acrylic baths flex the most, and even steel and cast iron baths settle slightly when full. Filling the bath first allows for that movement.
Landlords, agents and businesses in G70
We work for landlords and letting agents as well as homeowners. Sealant work between tenants is a simple way to keep a property in good order.
Businesses can book us for washrooms, kitchens, offices and more. For commercial premises, we can talk through working times when we quote.
How we quote for bathroom resealing
The price is agreed before any work begins. It takes into account:
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- The type of sealant required
- How easy the joints are to reach
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, because water and mould keep working on it. If you’re unsure, send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk for an honest opinion and a quote.
Helping us quote
Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Try to tell us:
- Whether it has been sealed before
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- A few pictures by email, if you can
Every job is quoted individually, so the first step is telling us about yours. Simply email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and describe the job.
What happens if it’s left?
Fresh sealant smartens a bathroom or kitchen with very little disruption, which matters if you are letting a property or selling it. A smeared, uneven DIY bead does the opposite.
Questions to ask before you book
- Who turns up on the day
- How the surfaces are prepared before sealing
- Whether VAT is included
- Whether they seal over old material or remove it
Aftercare tips
Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. We recommend:
- Keep an eye on the corners, where splits start
- Don’t let bottles sit on the bead
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
- Run the extractor fan during and after every shower
Clean the silicone with care: a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth is enough. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, and a nicked bead lets mould in sooner.
Each shower pushes a little more water through a failed joint. Over time that water reaches floors, walls and ceilings. Early resealing closes the gap before damage is done.
G70: your questions answered
Does the resealing come with a guarantee?
Yes, for 12 months. Looking after the joint as we suggest helps it last.
What should I tell you?
Where the job is, what the problem is and roughly how big it is. Photos by email help too.
Can you get rid of the black mould in my sealant?
Yes, we replace the mouldy bead. Sprays can fade the marks, but cutting it out and resealing is what lasts. Good ventilation helps keep it away.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We work in homes, commercial premises and hotels.
Do you cover G70?
Yes. From our base in Crawley, we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland, G70 included.
What colours of sealant can you use?
Most people choose white or clear, and other colours are available to suit tiles, trays and worktops. Tell us what you’d like when you get in touch.
Do you reseal kitchen worktops and sinks too?
Yes. The old sealant is cut out and the joint degreased, because cooking grease stops silicone sticking, then we reseal in a colour to suit.
