Moscow Fire Rated Sealant
Fire rated sealant for Moscow, by sealant specialists with 20+ years’ experience. Rated 4.9 on Google from 180+ five-star reviews.
- Old fire sealant that has split or come away
- New service routes left unsealed after building work
- Gaps around pipes and cables through fire-resisting walls
Why it’s worth doing now in Moscow
An unsealed gap lets smoke and fire get round a wall that was built to hold them back. A proper seal lets the wall do its job again, and the sealing itself is often a contained piece of work. Exposed walls in smaller Scottish places take a lot of wind and rain, and once water gets behind a failed joint, damp in stone or harled walls is slow to dry out.
The cost depends on how much there is to do, how hard the old material is to remove and how easy the joints are to reach. You’ll have a clear quote before any work starts.

Fire rated sealant for homes and businesses in Moscow
A gap around a door frame, a linear joint at the head of a wall and a hole round a pipe are each sealed differently. Measuring the gap and checking what it’s made of comes first, then the sealant goes in to the depth the product’s details set. If you have gaps left after a refit or conversion and cracked or shrunken fire-rated sealant, we can put it right.
Commercial work around smaller Scottish places tends to mean hotels, guest houses, schools and halls rather than offices. Each needs sound sealant in its washrooms and kitchens, and fire-rated joints kept in good order.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Moscow as everywhere else we work.

When it is not the sealant
New sealant cannot fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. Sealant will not put right:
- Deciding what fire stopping a building needs
- Fire doors that need new seals, closers or hardware
- A wall that isn’t a fire-resisting element to begin with
Not sure which it is? You can email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

DIY sealant or a professional job?
What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. Joints are cleaned back to sound surfaces and dried, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is, and the work is guaranteed for a year.
Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.

Your questions about fire rated sealant in Moscow
How do Scotland’s building regulations apply to fire-rated sealant in Moscow?
Building work in Scotland comes under the Building (Scotland) Regulations and their technical handbooks. Fire-rated sealant has to go in to the product’s tested details, and we follow them. We do not certify buildings or carry out fire risk assessments, so your fire risk assessor or building control will advise on what’s needed.
Do you work for landlords with property near Kilmarnock station?
Yes. We work for landlords and letting agents as well as homeowners, and several properties can be quoted together. You can drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk with the details for a clear quote.
Are you an approved applicator?
Yes. We’re ARBOMaster approved, the scheme for applicators of Arbo sealants.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Yes. More than one area can go on one quote.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Just the basics: where it is, what you’ve noticed and how we reach it. After that, simply send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk.
Can you match the sealant colour?
We help you choose a colour that suits, from white and clear to greys and other shades. The choice depends on the product the joint needs.
Do you take on fire stopping in schools and offices?
Yes. We regularly work in flats, HMOs, schools and offices while they’re in use, with access planned around residents or staff. Out-of-hours work can be arranged where it’s needed.
Can new sealant go over the old?
No. The old sealant always comes out first, so the new sealant bonds properly.
Keeping the joints in good condition
Good habits help new joints last longer. A few tips:
- Do not fill fire-stopping gaps with ordinary foam or silicone
- Flag any open gap you spot round a pipe or cable
- Allow for resealing whenever new services are run
- Check whether a sealant can be painted before decorating over it
Tell other trades that the gaps have been sealed, and make sure anything they disturb is resealed with a suitable product. Later work is a common cause of damaged fire stopping.
If a fire risk assessment has flagged a gap, don’t leave it for the next one. Get it sealed and recorded.
For landlords and businesses
We also work for property managers and facilities teams in Moscow and across East Ayrshire. We can quote a run of properties together.
Letting agents often deal with us directly. Tell us the address, the job and how access works and we’ll quote.
How the visit works
On the day, we look over the joints with you first, so you know exactly what we are doing. We protect the surfaces around the joints before work begins. Most jobs take a few hours for a handful of gaps, and longer for a whole building. Outdoor work around Moscow depends on the weather, as sealant needs a dry surface, so external jobs may need to move if the day turns wet. Work indoors isn’t affected.
- Access to each area is agreed so the work can run in order.
- We take out any damaged or unsuitable sealant.
- Gaps are cleaned of dust and loose material.
- We apply and tool the sealant to the product’s tested detail.
- We record what was done and flag anything that needs a different system.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear the area around the work
- Keep pets and children clear of the area while we work
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules

Advice
What affects the cost of fire rated sealant
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. The main factors:
- The product the joint needs
- The amount of work
- The number of rooms or windows
- Access and height
Every job is a little different, so we quote each one individually. Size, access and the product the joint needs all make a difference, and we’ll explain the quote if you ask.
What to tell us for a quote
There’s no need for technical detail. Just tell us:
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- The problem you’ve noticed
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- A few pictures by email, if you can
Need a quote? Please send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us about the job. You will know what we plan to do, and what it will cost, before any work begins.
Commercial buildings in Moscow
Scotland has its own building regulations, the Building (Scotland) Regulations, with technical handbooks. We install fire-rated sealant to the product’s tested details, though we do not certify buildings or do fire risk assessments.
If you let a flat or house near Kilmarnock station, new cables or pipes through a fire-resisting wall leave a gap that needs the right sealant. If you look after a building such as Loudoun Academy, fire-stopping around service openings should be restored whenever new services go in.
