Commercial sealant in Parkhead

Landlords and agents with several properties can have bathrooms and kitchens resealed between tenancies. We can quote for several properties at once to keep things simple. Common call-outs are for tired sealant ahead of a health and safety audit and mouldy bathrooms flagged at a tenancy check, on retail & leisure sites, hotel bathrooms and rental portfolios.

Scotland has its own building regulations, with their own technical handbooks. For buildings in Parkhead, fire-rated sealant is installed to the manufacturer’s tested details, and washroom and kitchen sealant is chosen for heavy use.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after we’ve gone.

Can I do it myself?

A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, such as a straightforward joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.

Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.

Quotes for commercial sealant in Parkhead

We do not publish a price list, because jobs vary so much. The quote depends on:

  • How easy the joints are to reach
  • Working hours on commercial sites
  • The number and length of the joints
  • Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out

We don’t show prices on the website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. For a quick quote, please email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we’ll talk you through it.

What to tell us for a quote

You don’t need to know the technical terms. Just tell us:

  • Where the job is, and your postcode
  • The rough size of the job
  • The problem you’ve noticed
  • Pictures of the joints, sent by email

Getting a quote is simple: let us know the job and the location, and roughly how big it is. Photos by email help us understand the job, and we will take it from there.

What we can’t put right

A few problems are outside what sealant work can do:

  • Leaking pipework, valves or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • Extraction that isn’t working, which needs an electrician or ventilation contractor
  • Water damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler or builder

If in doubt, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we will say what we think before booking.

Common questions in Parkhead

Is Parkhead in your area for commercial sealant?

Yes. Our work covers the whole of Scotland, and Parkhead is part of that. You can email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and let us know what needs doing, and we’ll send you a clear quote.

Is commercial sealant in Parkhead guaranteed?

All our work, in Parkhead and everywhere else, comes with a 12-month guarantee. We’re fully insured, and an ARBOMaster approved applicator.

Are you ARBOMaster approved?

Yes. We’re an ARBOMaster approved applicator.

Do I need to be at home?

If the work is inside, we need someone to let us in. Once we have agreed the job, you don’t need to watch us work.

How long will you be here?

As a guide, most jobs take a few hours per area, with larger sites planned over several visits. Bigger jobs take longer, and we will say how long yours will take.

Will you leave a mess?

Tidy work is part of the job. Nearby surfaces are protected, and the area is left clean when we finish.

What do you need from me for a quote?

Where the job is, what the problem is and roughly how big it is. If you can, email a few pictures.

Where is Mr Mastic based?

We are a Crawley-based firm. We work across South East England, London and Scotland.

Leave it or put it right?

Sealing over the old bead can seem the fastest option, but it won’t bond, and it lifts again soon. One proper reseal beats several quick ones. In a Scottish city tenement, failed sealant affects more than one flat: water can reach the flat below, and gaps in shared walls or fire-stopping affect the whole stair.

A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, as water and mould keep getting in. If you are not sure whether it needs doing, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk for an honest opinion and a quote.

Why us?

  • Sealant colour chosen to suit
  • We leave the area clean and tidy
  • White, clear, grey or coloured to suit, where the product allows
  • Quality sealants from Arbo and Everbuild

How the job changes by surface

Office washrooms & kitchens

Office washrooms and tea points are used all day, so we can work early or out of hours where that can be arranged. We reseal around basins, urinals, worktops and sinks.

Student & care accommodation

Many accommodation blocks have rows of similar en suites. We agree a programme and work through them steadily.

Signs you need commercial sealant in Parkhead

In office kitchens and tea points, joints are wet and wiped all day, so sealant there wears and stains. Worktop and sink joints are often the first to go.

It’s worth asking for a quote if you see:

  • Shower leaks reaching the floor below
  • Leaking joints in shower rooms and changing areas
  • Whole floors of tired en suites
  • Joints that need doing before an inspection or audit

If you look after a building such as St Mungo's Academy, sealant in washrooms, kitchens and changing areas can be renewed around term times or opening hours.

What to look for in a quote

  • What the cure time is
  • Is the old sealant removed completely?
  • How much experience the applicator has
  • What the quote includes, VAT included or not

The process

At the end, we look at the finished work together and tell you how long to leave it. The visit itself usually takes a few hours per area, with larger sites planned over several visits, depending on the amount of work. Parking in city streets around Parkhead can be tight or controlled, so it helps to know about permits or nearby bays. If you’re in a flat, let us know how we get in at the street door.

  1. Tell us the rooms, hours and site rules, and we’ll plan the programme.
  2. We go through your site’s paperwork needs, such as RAMS, before work begins.
  3. In each room, the old bead comes out and the joint is cleaned and treated.
  4. Anti-fungal sanitary silicone goes into wet areas, with suitable sealant elsewhere.
  5. Each finished area is checked with you and given a cure time.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know about parking restrictions
  • Clear the area around the work
