About our bathroom resealing in Stonestreet Green

A bead that has gone black, split or come away is worth sorting before it lets water through. A photo of the joints helps when you call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email, and we will send you a clear quote for bathroom resealing in Stonestreet Green. We’re often asked to deal with leaks into the floor or ceiling below and sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away, across sinks & splashbacks, wet rooms and shower trays & enclosures.

Somewhere as small as Stonestreet Green, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right with it in that time, tell us and we’ll put it right.

What happens if it’s left?

A failed joint gets more costly to put right the longer it’s left. Water that gets behind a bath soaks into the floor, the panel and sometimes the ceiling below, turning a small job into a building repair. Around Stonestreet Green, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.

Leaving a failed joint generally makes the job bigger, not smaller. If you are unsure, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email for an honest opinion and a quote.

What sealant work cannot fix

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what sealant can’t fix:

  • A tray or bath that’s cracked through
  • Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant
  • A bath or tray that moves because it isn’t properly supported

Not sure which it is? You can phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Bathroom resealing in Stonestreet Green: local notes

Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

If you live in an older home near Church of St Martin, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Aldington Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.

What affects the quote in Stonestreet Green

You’ll get a clear quote before work begins. It takes into account:

  • How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
  • The number and length of the joints
  • Which sealant suits the joint
  • Working hours on commercial sites

There are no prices on our website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will talk you through it.

What to tell us for a quote

Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Try to tell us:

  • A few photos by email, if you can
  • The type of property
  • The problem you’ve noticed
  • If someone has resealed it before

Asking for a quote is easy: let us know the job and the location and its rough size. A few photos by email make the job easier to understand, and we will take it from there.

Your questions about bathroom resealing in Stonestreet Green

Can you do bathroom resealing in Stonestreet Green?

Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Stonestreet Green is part of that. You can call 0345 464 0079 or email us and let us know what needs doing.

I let a flat near Westenhanger station. Can you help?

Yes, rental work is part of what we do. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us about the property, and we will give you a clear price.

Will the old sealant be removed?

Always. Sealing over old sealant is the main reason resealing fails early, so we never do it.

Can I choose the colour of the sealant?

We can use white, clear or a colour to suit. On a worktop we colour-match where the joint shows.

Where do you work from?

We’re a Crawley-based firm, with over 20 years’ experience. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.

What should I tell you?

Let us know what needs doing and where. If we need more, we’ll ask.

My sealant has gone black. Can you sort it?

Yes, we can. The old sealant comes out, the mould is treated, and we reseal with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.

When can I use the bath or shower again?

After around 24 hours in most cases. We will tell you the cure time for the product we used.

How the visit works

There isn’t much for you to do on the day. Point us to the joints and we will get on with it. The job generally takes a couple of hours for a single bath or shower from start to finish. Somewhere as small as Stonestreet Green, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.

  1. We cover the area around the joints we are working on.
  2. We cut away the old sealant and clean off what’s left.
  3. Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
  5. The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
  • For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
  • Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive

How to look after the new joints

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Wait for the cure time we give you
  • Keep scourers and sharp tools away from the bead
  • Keep the fan on for a while after bathing
  • Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then

Wipe up standing water along the worktop joint and keep hot pans off the bead. A dry joint lasts longer.

A few black dots in the silicone soon become a black line. Once it’s deep in the silicone, cleaning normally won’t remove it, and nearby grout often goes the same way. Catching it early keeps it a simple reseal.

What we’re called out for in Stonestreet Green

Sealant laid on a damp, dusty or greasy joint never bonds properly. Soap residue, oils and leftover silicone film all get in the way, so a rushed job can start to lift early.

Most people get in touch after spotting something like this:

  • Smears of silicone across the tiles
  • Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
  • A reseal done over the top of the old bead
  • Leaking joints on a shower screen

If you let a flat or house near Westenhanger station, a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for.

DIY versus a professional finish

What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is.

Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
