Pested Bathroom Resealing
Our applicators work in Pested on bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly and every job guaranteed for a year.
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
- Failed sealant on the screen profile
About our bathroom resealing in Pested
The secret of a lasting bead is the preparation. Every bit of old silicone comes out, down to the thin film left on the tiles, after which the joint is degreased and any mould treated. Only once it’s dry does the new bead go on. If you’re dealing with two layers of silicone, both failing and failed sealant on the screen profile, we can put it right, whatever the surface.
Being in a small place like Pested makes no difference to the job itself: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
Our work is backed for twelve months.

When it isn’t the sealant
Sealant is not the answer to every problem, and we’ll tell you before any work starts. Sealant won’t put right:
- A tray or bath that’s cracked through
- A leaking waste, trap or valve
- Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler
If you’re not sure, just call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer.
What we seal
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Kitchen worktops & upstands
- Wet rooms
- Baths
- Sinks & splashbacks
- Basins & vanity units
Can I do it myself?
A DIY attempt doesn’t rule out a professional job. We remove it and do the joint properly, so just mention it when you contact us.
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, such as a straightforward joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
Aftercare tips
How long the joints last depends on use and care. Here’s what we suggest:
- Wait for the cure time we give you
- Wipe the sealant dry after showering
- Dry worktop joints after washing up
- Clean with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth
In a kitchen, don’t let water sit along the back of the worktop and keep hot pans off the bead. The drier the joint stays, the longer it lasts.
Mould that starts as a few spots spreads through the bead. Once it’s deep in the silicone, cleaning normally will not remove it. Catching it early keeps it a simple reseal.
How we quote for bathroom resealing
Every job gets its own quote. These are the things that affect it:
- How many areas need sealing
- Any working-time requirements on site
- Which sealant suits the joint
- Mould in or behind the old joints
The cost reflects the work involved, not guesswork. That is why we ask about the job first.
Helping us quote
Photos help, but a description is a good start. Try to tell us:
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- How we’d reach the joints
We quote each job on its own. Simply phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and describe the job, and photos are welcome.
How the job changes by surface
Wet rooms
In a wet room, the joints between floor and walls take standing water. They get anti-fungal sanitary silicone, and our work is on the visible joints only.
Baths
Acrylic baths flex the most, and even steel and cast iron baths settle slightly when full. Filling the bath first allows for that movement.

What we do, step by step
There isn’t much for you to do on the day. Show us the job and we’ll take it from there. The job generally takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is, including the tidy-up. Somewhere like Pested needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- We start by protecting the area and stripping out the old bead, including the film left on the tiles.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- Once it’s dry, any bath is filled so the bead is laid with it at its heaviest.
- New anti-fungal silicone goes on in a colour to suit and is tooled to a clean finish.
- Finally we tidy up and explain the cure time before we leave.
How to prepare
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
- Move anything stored near the joints
- Tell us about any water getting in

What bathroom resealing looks like in Pested
Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Managing a site like Challock Primary School? Then washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes. Rented homes near Wye station change hands often, and fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay. For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Peter, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.
