Ostend Bathroom Resealing
We cover Ostend for bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly and a 12-month guarantee.
- New sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting
- Black mould in the silicone that won’t clean off
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
What happens on the day
The work is kept neat and contained to the joints we are treating, so you can carry on as normal. The job usually takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen, and we tell you how long to leave it before we go. In a small place like Ostend, access is generally the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We cover the area around the joints we are working on.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
- Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.
Before we arrive
- Tell us about any water getting in
- Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
- Let us know about parking restrictions

Advice
Bathroom resealing in Ostend
We fill the bath before sealing it. The weight settles the bath to its lowest point, so the bead is not stretched the first time someone gets in. Quick jobs often leave it out, and it makes a real difference. Typical jobs include leaking joints on a shower screen and a joint torn by a bath that flexes, on basins & vanity units, kitchen worktops & upstands and wet rooms.
For a small place like Ostend, bathroom resealing is planned like any other job: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
Each job carries a 12-month guarantee, whatever its size.

Should I try it myself first?
A DIY attempt does not rule out a professional job. We remove it and do the joint properly, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
Not every job suits DIY: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs call for the right materials, safe access and experience.

Bathroom resealing around Ostend
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Ormiston Rivers Academy, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes. Homes close to Church of All Saints include some older properties, and bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. If you let a flat or house near Burnham-On-Crouch station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.

FAQs for Ostend
Do you work for landlords with property near Burnham-On-Crouch station?
Yes, landlords and agents are among the people we work for. Just call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and what needs doing, and we will give you a clear price.
Is Ostend in your area for bathroom resealing?
Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Ostend is part of that. You can call 0345 464 0079 or email us and tell us what needs doing.
What does bathroom resealing cost?
It depends on the job, so we quote each one individually. For a quick quote, phone 0345 464 0079 or email us with a short description of the job.
How long does it take to reseal a bath or shower?
A single bath or shower takes about a couple of hours, old sealant removal included. A whole bathroom plus the kitchen may take most of the day.
Do you reseal kitchen worktops and sinks too?
Yes, often alongside a bathroom. Next to the sink we use a food-safe product where it’s needed.
Can you get rid of the black mould in my sealant?
Yes. Mould inside the bead rarely cleans out for good, so the bead comes out, the joint is treated and new anti-fungal silicone goes in.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes. We cut out all the old sealant and clean the joint.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Of course. Doing several areas at once is usually more efficient, so mention them when you ask for a quote.
What the job involves on each surface
Wet rooms
Wet room floors move slightly as they’re used, so the corners need a flexible seal, not grout. Where grout in a corner has cracked, we can replace it with sealant.
Shower trays & enclosures
If a tray moves underfoot, new silicone will not last. We check for movement before we reseal, and tell you if it needs re-bedding first.
When something else is needed
To be straight with you, some problems need a different trade:
- A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded
- A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
If you’re not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll give you a straight answer.

How we quote for bathroom resealing
We quote each job individually. These are the things that affect it:
- The size of the job
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- The number of rooms or windows
- Working hours on commercial sites
Combining jobs into one visit generally makes better use of the time than several visits. You’ll get one clear quote for the whole job.
Helping us quote
Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Please mention:
- What’s wrong with the joints now
- Whether it’s a home or a business
- The address or postcode of the job
- If someone has resealed it before
For bathroom resealing in Ostend, call 0345 464 0079 or email us. A short description of the job and where it is helps us quote, and you’ll get a clear quote before work begins.
Keeping the joints in good condition
No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. Our tips:
- Run the extractor fan during and after every shower
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Dry worktop joints after washing up
- Keep bottles off the sealant line
Wipe up standing water along the worktop joint and keep hot pans off the bead. A dry joint lasts longer.
Mould that starts as a few spots spreads through the bead. When it has grown right through, it rarely cleans out, and nearby grout often goes the same way. Catching it early keeps it a simple reseal.
What happens if it’s left?
Tired sealant is not a reason to replace a bath or shower. Replacing the joint is normally all it takes. If we find a deeper problem, you will hear it from us. In a small place like Ostend, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.
The cost depends on the amount of work, how much old material has to come out and access to the work. We give a clear quote before we start, so you know where you stand.
