- Grout stained black or orange that won’t clean
- Grout in a colour the owner wants to change
Regrouting for homes and businesses in Ostend
Across Ostend, we regrout tiled showers, bathrooms and kitchens. Out comes the old grout, the joints are cleaned and new grout goes in, and we finish by resealing the edges. We work on kitchen splashbacks, shower walls and bathroom wall tiles, and people most often call us about old grout in a dated colour and cracked or crumbling grout lines.
Somewhere as small as Ostend, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Movement in older walls and floors tends to show first as cracked grout or split sealant.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right with it, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.

What happens on the day
Once we are on site, we compare the joints with what we discussed. If we find something unexpected, we talk it through with you first. After that, the work takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. Somewhere as small as Ostend, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We agree the area to be regrouted and point out any loose tiles.
- We remove the old grout carefully.
- The joints are cleaned out and vacuumed.
- We grout the joints and wipe the tiles clean.
- Internal corners and edges are resealed.

Advice
What sealant work can’t fix
We’d rather tell you now than do work that will not last, so these are the limits:
- Waterproofing that has failed below the tiling
- A structure that flexes behind the tiles
- Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
If you are not sure, just call 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
What we seal
- Wet rooms
- Tiled floors
- Bathroom wall tiles
- Kitchen splashbacks
- Shower walls
- Bathroom floors
Why act early in Ostend
It’s tempting to fill a few cracks yourself, but patched grout rarely matches the rest and the old grout carries on failing. Regrouting the whole area gives an even, lasting finish. Older cottages and farmhouses around Ostend can have timber floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.
Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: how much there is to do, how we reach it and what it needs, along with when we can work on site. Ask us for a quote and we’ll explain what it covers.

Should I try it myself first?
If you’re set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone will not bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
Signs you need regrouting in Ostend
Grout is porous, so it soaks up water, soap and dirt. Given time, it discolours and begins to break down and showers that get daily use suffer most.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Kitchen splashback grout stained by grease
- Grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned
- Crumbling grout between the tiles
- Discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles
Homes close to Church of All Saints include some older properties, and older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.
Questions to ask before you book
- Whether all the old sealant comes out first
- How long the guarantee is
- Are they insured?
- Who does the work, and how experienced they are

Will you come out to Ostend?
Yes. Ostend is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Should I try DIY first?
For a simple, easy-to-reach joint, a careful DIYer can do a reasonable job. Most DIY failures come from sealing over old material, wet joints or too much sealant.
How much does regrouting cost in Ostend?
The cost depends on the size of the job, access and how much old sealant has to come out. Call for a quick quote and we’ll talk you through it.
Can you do several jobs on one visit?
Yes. Tell us about everything you’d like done.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Just the basics: where it is, what you’ve noticed and how we reach it. Then ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
What goes in the corners, grout or silicone?
We use silicone in corners and along edges. Grout in a moving joint soon cracks.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes. We cut out all the old sealant and clean the joint before applying anything new.
Surface by surface
Kitchen splashbacks
Grout behind the hob and sink works hard. We renew the grout and the worktop sealant.
Corners and edges
Internal corners move, so we seal them rather than grout them.
