Bathroom & kitchen resealing in Myrke, Slough
We cover Myrke for bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly and a 12-month guarantee.
- Sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away
- Water getting behind the bath panel
- New sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting
Leave it or put it right?
A clean new bead makes a room look cared for, which helps when a home is being let or put on the market. Lumpy sealant with smears on the tiles has the opposite effect. Older cottages and farmhouses around Myrke can have timber floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, as water and mould keep getting in. If you are unsure, ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email for an honest opinion and a quote.

Honest limits
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what new sealant won’t do:
- Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
- A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)
- Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support

Questions from Myrke
Will you come out to Myrke?
Yes, we do. We work across London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Do you take on hotel work around Myrke?
Yes. Hotel and guest-house work is part of what we do. Work can be planned room by room, and out-of-hours working can be arranged.
Where do you work from?
We’re based in Crawley, West Sussex, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
What sealant do you use?
We choose the sealant for the joint, not the other way round. Movement, water and weather all affect the choice.
What colours of sealant can you use?
We can use white, clear or a colour to suit. Where the joint is on show, we match it to the surface.
When can I use the bath or shower again?
Silicone is touch-dry quite quickly, but it takes longer to cure. Keep water off it for around 24 hours, or as long as we advise for that product.
Is it OK to put new sealant on top of the old bead?
No, never. A bead laid over old silicone soon starts to come away, because silicone does not bond to silicone. We remove the old bead completely before resealing.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course. Combining jobs makes good use of the visit, so mention them when you ask for a quote.
Myrke homes and their sealant
There are hotels and other places to stay in and around Myrke. Hotel bathrooms are part of our work as well as homes, and can be done room by room. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Rented homes near Slough station change hands often, and a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for. If you live in an older home near Church of St Laurence, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. Schools such as Long Close School are buildings too, and washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

How we quote for bathroom resealing
We quote each job individually. These are the things that affect it:
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- When we can work, for business premises
- Any mould that needs treating
What it costs depends on how much there is to do, how hard the old material is to remove and how easy the joints are to reach. We give a clear quote before work begins.
Helping us quote
Before you ask for a quote, have a think about:
- A few pictures by email, if you can
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- Where the job is, and your postcode
There’s no standard price list, because every job is different. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To get started, call 0345 464 0079 or email us.
How the job changes by surface
Wet rooms
A wet room floor and its walls can move independently, so the corners need a flexible seal, not grout. Where grout in a corner has cracked, we can replace it with sealant.
Shower trays & enclosures
If a tray moves underfoot, new silicone won’t last. Movement is checked before anything is resealed, and if the tray needs refixing, we’ll say so.
The process
All our tools and materials come with us in the van, so there’s nothing for you to buy. After a quick look at the joints together, we protect the area and start. It normally takes a couple of hours for a single bath or shower. For a village or hamlet like Myrke, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- We protect the area and cut out all of the old sealant, including the film left on the tiles.
- We clean and degrease the joint and treat any mould.
- Once it’s dry, any bath is filled so the bead is laid with it at its heaviest.
- We apply anti-fungal sanitary silicone in one even bead and tool it neatly.
- We clear away and tell you when it can get wet, normally after around 24 hours.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
- Clear items away from the joints we’re working on

What else we do in Myrke
DIY versus a professional finish
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.
A DIY attempt does not rule out a professional job. We cut it out and start again.
For landlords and businesses
We also work for businesses, from offices to washrooms and kitchens. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.
Whether it’s one flat or a portfolio, you get the same standard of work: old sealant fully removed, joints prepared properly and a one-year guarantee.
