Bathroom Resealing in Stoke Poges
Baths, showers and worktops in Stoke Poges need attention? We remove the old material, prepare the joints and seal them properly, with a one-year guarantee.
- Leaks into the floor or ceiling below
- Failed sealant on the screen profile
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
Leave it or put it right?
Fresh sealant smartens a bathroom or kitchen with very little disruption, which helps when a home is being let or put on the market. A smeared, uneven DIY bead does the opposite, and it’s harder to put right later. In a smaller place like Stoke Poges, wherever a wall is exposed, a failed outside joint is a real source of damp. Indoors, a failed seal lets water into floors and panels as it would anywhere.
Homes and businesses are quoted the same way: the amount of work, the access and the products needed, along with when we can work on site. Call for a quick quote and we’ll explain what it covers.

How we handle bathroom resealing in Stoke Poges
Kitchens need the same care as bathrooms. Worktop upstands, sink edges and splashback joints get wet every single day, and water that gets into the back edge of a worktop can swell the board. We reseal them with a kitchen-suitable silicone, matched to the worktop where it’s on show. We work on basins & vanity units, sinks & splashbacks and baths, and common reasons people get in touch are mouldy sealant that has gone black and lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt.
Even in a smaller place like Stoke Poges, bathrooms and kitchens see heavy daily use. Older or newer, every room gets the same approach: old sealant or grout cut out, joints cleaned and dried, and a fresh finish laid.

What we’re called out for in Stoke Poges
Older sealant shrinks and hardens. In kitchens it often shrinks away from the back edge, leaving a thin gap where water and food collect. Heat from the hob and strong sprays speed it along.
Any of these means the joints need attention:
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
- Failed sealant on the screen profile
- Water getting behind the bath panel
- Black mould in the silicone that won’t clean off
Rented homes near Slough station change hands often, and mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets.

What else we do in Stoke Poges
Can I do it myself?
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone will not bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.
When it isn’t the sealant
It helps to know what we can’t do too:
- A leaking waste, trap or valve
- Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant
- A tray or bath that’s cracked through
If you are not sure, just call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
Surfaces we seal
- Basins & vanity units
- Wet rooms
- Baths
- Kitchen worktops & upstands
- Sinks & splashbacks
- Shower trays & enclosures
Different surfaces, different methods
Basins & vanity units
Basin joints are short and close to eye level: the bead is right in front of you, so it’s tooled cleanly and evenly, finished in a colour that suits the basin.
Baths
A bath shifts slightly every time it’s filled, so we fill it with water before sealing. That way the joint is laid with the bath at its heaviest and isn’t stretched when it’s used.
Stoke Poges: your questions answered
I let a flat near Slough station. Can you help?
Yes, landlords and agents are among the people we work for, and several properties can go on one quote. You can call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the details for a clear quote.
Is Stoke Poges within the area you cover?
Yes, Stoke Poges is covered. Our work covers London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. Larger jobs can be planned room by room or area by area.
Where are you based?
Our base is Crawley. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.
Is white the only colour available?
White and clear are the most common choices, but other colours can be used to suit tiles and worktops. Tell us what you’d like when you get in touch.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes. Sealing over the old bead is the commonest cause of early failure, so we never do it.
Is it messy?
No. We protect the surfaces around the joints, and we clear up the old sealant and our materials before we leave.
Are you ARBOMaster approved?
Yes. We are an ARBOMaster approved applicator, which is run for the Arbo sealant brand.
What we do, step by step
There is not much for you to do on the day. Point us to the joints and we will get on with it. The job generally takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom. A visit to Stoke Poges is planned like any other: the time, the access and where to park are agreed in advance. Outdoor jobs depend on a dry day, since sealant needs a dry surface.
- First, each joint is checked for movement and signs of water.
- The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- With the joint dry, and any bath loaded with water, a single bead of anti-fungal silicone is applied.
- We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, normally around 24 hours.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep pets and children clear of the area while we work
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Clear the area around the work

How we quote for bathroom resealing
Your quote is based on your job. We look at:
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- Working hours on commercial sites
- The size of the job
- The product the joint needs
Instead of a standard rate, we look at what your job involves: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. The price is agreed before we begin.
Helping us quote
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you get in contact, it helps to mention:
- What’s wrong with the joints now
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
Asking for a quote is easy: tell us what needs doing and where, and roughly how big it is. A few pictures by email make the job easier to understand, and we’ll come back to you with a quote.
Bathrooms and kitchens in Stoke Poges
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
If you live in an older home near St Andrew's Church Centre, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as The Stoke Poges School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.
