What the job involves on each surface

Wet rooms

A wet room floor and its walls can move independently, so the corners need a flexible seal, not grout. Where grout in a corner has cracked, we can replace it with sealant.

Kitchen worktops & upstands

Laminate worktops swell if water gets into the core. A continuous bead along the back keeps water out, as long as the worktop itself is firmly fixed.

Bathroom resealing in Meresborough, done properly

The bead of silicone around a bath, tray or worktop is what keeps water out of the gaps. Once it cracks or goes mouldy, water starts to find its way through and into the wall or floor. Our team cut the old bead out completely and lay a new one in anti-fungal sanitary silicone. We’re often asked to deal with gaps between the worktop and the wall and leaking joints on a shower screen, on kitchen worktops & upstands, baths and sinks & splashbacks.

Being in a small place like Meresborough makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by our one-year guarantee.

FAQs for Meresborough

Is Meresborough within the area you cover?

Yes. Meresborough is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

I let a flat near Rainham (Kent) station. Can you help?

Yes. We work for letting agents and landlords as well as homeowners. You can call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the details for a clear quote.

How long does the new silicone need before I use the shower?

Around 24 hours is typical, and we confirm the time for the product used. Using it sooner can damage the bead.

What do you need from me for a quote?

A short description and the location, with pictures by email if possible. We will ask anything else we need to know.

Are you ARBOMaster approved?

Yes. ARBOMaster is the approved applicator scheme for Arbo sealants, and we are part of it.

Do you do kitchens as well as bathrooms?

Yes. Kitchen joints get extra degreasing before the new bead goes on, then a colour-matched bead is laid.

Is there any odour?

Some sealants have a smell while they cure, but it fades. Opening a window helps.

Can you do several jobs on one visit?

Yes. Just list everything you need.

Leave it or put it right?

You do not need a new bathroom because the sealant looks bad. A new bead often brings the whole room back. If we find a deeper problem, you’ll hear it from us. Older cottages and farmhouses around Meresborough can have timber floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.

The cost depends on the amount of work, how much old material has to come out and access to the work. We give a clear quote before any work starts, so you know where you stand.

Meresborough homes and their sealant

Meresborough is close to the coast. Near the coast, holiday lets and guest houses can see bathrooms used by one guest after another, which wears sealant and grout out faster than in a quiet home. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.

If you live in an older home near St Paul's Church, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. If you look after a building such as Park Wood Infant School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.

Signs you need bathroom resealing in Meresborough

Mould is the reason many people want their sealant replaced. Bathrooms without good ventilation keep the silicone damp for hours, and once it has grown into the bead, cleaning rarely gets it out.

The problems people usually mention when they call include:

  • Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
  • Black spots spreading through the bead
  • A reseal done over the top of the old bead
  • Leaking joints on a shower screen

For landlords with property near Rainham (Kent) station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.

Choosing a sealant specialist

Landlord and commercial work in Meresborough

We work for letting agents and landlords as well as homeowners. Resealing between tenancies keeps a property looking cared for before the next move-in.

From a single let to a portfolio, you get the same standard of work: old sealant fully removed, joints prepared properly and a 12-month guarantee.

Honest limits

Sealant isn’t the answer to every problem, and we’ll tell you before any work starts. It will not solve:

  • Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
  • Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler
  • A leaking waste, trap or valve

Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we seal

  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & upstands
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Sinks & splashbacks

The process

When we get to you, we check the joints match what you told us. If anything is different, we explain it before carrying on. Most jobs then take a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen. Somewhere as small as Meresborough, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.

  1. We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
  2. The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
  3. The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
  4. With the joint dry, and any bath loaded with water, a single bead of anti-fungal silicone is applied.
  5. We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, generally around 24 hours.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the work
  • Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
