About our bathroom resealing in Marsh Baldon
Resealing is a small job that makes a big difference. Mouldy silicone makes even a new bathroom look neglected, and a clean white or clear joint fixes it quickly. It also seals the gaps that let water behind the bath. If you have a reseal done over the top of the old bead and black spots spreading through the bead, we can put it right, whatever the surface.
Somewhere as small as Marsh Baldon, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.

How the visit works
Before we leave, we go over the finished joints with you. The work normally takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers, depending on the size of the job. Somewhere as small as Marsh Baldon, access is often the only tricky part. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- We cover the area around the joints we’re working on.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
- Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
- The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.
Before we arrive
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
- Let us know about parking restrictions

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
Letting agents and landlords in Marsh Baldon can book us as well as householders. Sealant work between tenants keeps a property looking cared for before the next move-in.
Hotels need rooms back in use, so the work can be planned room by room around your bookings where we can. Hotel work is part of what we do, alongside homes and businesses.
What sealant work cannot fix
We will not take on work that won’t last, so here’s what sealant cannot put right:
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- A bath or tray that moves because it is not properly supported
- Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant
If in doubt, ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will say what we think before you book.

Bathroom resealing around Marsh Baldon
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Peter, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. Rented homes near Radley station change hands often, and fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay. Schools such as Marsh Baldon Church of England Controlled School are buildings too, and its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

What affects the quote in Marsh Baldon
For a quick quote, just ask. The main things that affect it are:
- When we can work, for business premises
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- The product the joint needs
- Access and height
Homes and businesses are quoted the same way: the amount of work, the access and the products needed, plus any working-time requirements on site. Ask us for a quote and we’ll go through it with you.
What we need to know
To make quoting easier, let us know:
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- If someone has resealed it before
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- Where the property is
Asking for a quote is easy: tell us what needs doing and where, and roughly how big it is. Photos by email help us understand the job.

Marsh Baldon questions
Will you come out to Marsh Baldon?
Yes, Marsh Baldon is covered. Our work covers London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Do you cover Marsh Baldon for bathroom resealing?
Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Marsh Baldon is part of that. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us what needs doing.
What information do you need?
Tell us what needs doing and where, with photos by email if possible. We’ll ask anything else we need to know.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure your landlord agrees.
What do you put in the joint?
It depends on the joint: anti-fungal sanitary silicone in wet areas, and other sealants where joints move or face the weather. We use products from Arbo and Everbuild.
Where are you based?
We work from Crawley. Our applicators cover Marsh Baldon, along with the rest of our area.
Is it OK to put new sealant on top of the old bead?
No. New silicone won’t bond to old silicone, so it peels away and hides mould and water. We always take the old sealant out completely.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes. All of the old material is cut out and the joint cleaned before applying anything new.
Leave it or put it right?
Leaving a split or mouldy bead only stores up trouble. Water that gets behind a bath soaks into the floor, the panel and sometimes the ceiling below, turning a small job into a building repair. Older cottages and farmhouses around Marsh Baldon can have timber floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.
A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, because water and mould keep working on it. If you are unsure, phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll give you an honest view and a quote.

Looking after it afterwards
No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. A few tips:
- Dry worktop joints after washing up
- Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then
- Use gentle cleaners on the silicone
- Wait for the cure time we give you
Clean the silicone with care: a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth is enough. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, and a nicked bead lets mould in sooner.
Worktop joints fail quietly. Splashes run behind the back edge and soak into the worktop, where it can make the board swell. A reseal in time can save the worktop.
Can I do it myself?
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. Joints are cleaned back to sound surfaces and dried, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is.
A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, such as a straightforward joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
