Bathroom resealing in Didcot
A shower joint gets soaked every day. Trays, enclosures, screen profiles and wet room floors all need a flexible, waterproof seal. They’re resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone, tooled smooth so water runs off instead of sitting in a ridge. We work on basins & vanity units, kitchen worktops & upstands and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are a messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal and leaking joints on a shower screen.
Didcot mixes older houses with estates built more recently, so bathrooms range from long-standing suites to recent refits. Either way, the sealant and grout are normally the first things to fail.
You’re covered for a year from the day we finish. If anything isn’t right with it, phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

What affects the quote in Didcot
Your quote is based on your job. We look at:
- The size of the job
- Mould in or behind the old joints
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- Any working-time requirements on site
What it costs depends on how much there is to do, how much old material has to come out and access to the work. We give a clear quote before any work starts, so you know where you stand.
What to tell us for a quote
Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Try to tell us:
- The address or postcode of the job
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
- The problem you’ve noticed
To get a quote, phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us where the job is and what the problem looks like. You will have a clear quote before any work starts.
Questions from Didcot
Is Didcot in your area for bathroom resealing?
Yes, Didcot is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with a few details of the job.
What guarantee comes with bathroom resealing in Didcot?
All our work, in Didcot and everywhere else, comes with a 12-month guarantee. We’re fully insured, and an ARBOMaster approved applicator.
Is it worth trying it myself?
Sometimes. The key is preparation: remove all the old material and work on a clean, dry joint. We can always put it right if it fails.
Does someone need to be in?
If the work is inside, we need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.
How long before the new sealant can get wet?
We give you the cure time before we leave, and it’s normally around 24 hours. Using it sooner can damage the bead.
What information do you need?
Tell us what needs doing and where. We’ll ask anything else we need to know.
Can you get rid of the black mould in my sealant?
Yes, we can. The old sealant comes out, the mould is treated, and we reseal with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Where are you based?
Our base is in Crawley, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
How the job changes by surface
Baths
A bath shifts slightly every time it’s filled, so we fill it with water before sealing. The joint is then laid with the bath at its lowest point.
Sinks & splashbacks
The edge of an inset sink is a common place for water to get under the worktop. Where the sealant around the visible edge has failed, we renew it.
How the visit works
You do not need to clear the whole room or building before we come, just the space around the work. We protect the rest, and the work takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is for a typical job. A visit in Didcot needs access to the work and a place to park close by. For outside work, let us know about side access, gates and any upper-floor joints.
- We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
- The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you’re told the cure time, generally around 24 hours.
Before we arrive
- Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
How to get a quote
Asking for a quote is easy: tell us what needs doing and where, and roughly how big it is. A few pictures by email make the job easier to understand, and we’ll come back to you with a quote.

Aftercare tips
Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. Our advice:
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Check the joints every few months for splits or lifting
- Wipe the sealant dry after showering
- Wait for the cure time we give you
Clean the silicone with care: a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth is enough. Scourers and blades can nick the surface, and a nicked bead lets mould in sooner.
A split bead lets water through every time the bath or shower is used. Left alone, it soaks into the floor, the wall behind the tiles or the ceiling below. Early resealing closes the gap before damage is done.
Common problems we fix in Didcot
No sealant lasts indefinitely. Daily water, heat and cleaning products slowly wear it down, and how long it lasts comes down to use, cleaning and ventilation.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
- Leaks into the floor or ceiling below
- Gaps between the worktop and the wall
- Failed sealant on the screen profile
Homes close to Church of All Saints include some older properties, and timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.
What to look for in a quote
- Are they insured?
- What happens if they find a problem under the old sealant
- How the surfaces are prepared before sealing
- Is the old sealant removed completely?
What bathroom resealing looks like in Didcot
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Letting a property close to Didcot Parkway station? Then mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Manor Primary School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

Why act early in Didcot
Leaving a split or mouldy bead only stores up trouble. Water that gets behind a bath soaks into the floor, the panel and sometimes the ceiling below, and that is a far bigger job than a reseal. Draughts from a gap round a frame, damp under a sill or water behind a bath panel all start small, and they’re far easier to fix early.
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. Size, access and the product the joint needs all make a difference, and we’ll explain the quote if you ask.
