How we handle bathroom resealing in Kimpton
Mr Mastic has more than 20 years’ experience of sealant work, and our applicators reseal bathrooms and kitchens across Kimpton. We are fully insured ARBOMaster approved applicators, and every job carries our 12-month guarantee. If you have new sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting and smears of silicone across the tiles, we can help, on baths, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms alike.
Somewhere as small as Kimpton, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Movement in older walls and floors tends to show first as cracked grout or split sealant.
Our work is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you are.

FAQs for Kimpton
I let a flat near Grateley station. Can you help?
Yes. We work for landlords and agents as well as homeowners. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and what needs doing, and we’ll give you a clear price.
Do you cover Kimpton for bathroom resealing?
Yes, Kimpton is within the area we cover. Our work covers London and the South East. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or email us with a few details of the job.
My sealant has gone black. Can you sort it?
Yes, we can. We strip the bead, treat the joint and lay new anti-fungal silicone.
What should I tell you?
Where the job is, what the problem is and roughly how big it is. Photos by email help too.
How long does it take to reseal a bath or shower?
It takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers. We will confirm how long your job needs when we quote.
Is it OK to put new sealant on top of the old bead?
No, and it’s one of the main reasons reseals fail. The old joint is stripped, cleaned and resealed from scratch.
Do you hold any approvals?
Yes. We hold ARBOMaster approved applicator status and we’re fully insured too.
Do you guarantee your resealing?
Yes. We give a 12-month guarantee on every job, and we’re ARBOMaster approved applicators.
How the visit works
When we arrive, we start by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Surfaces next to the work are protected before work begins. The work usually takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom. For a village or hamlet like Kimpton, the journey is planned in advance: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
- We cut away the old sealant and clean off what’s left.
- Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
- Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.
Before we arrive
- Let us know about parking restrictions
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules

Why act early in Kimpton
You don’t need a new bathroom because the sealant looks bad. A new bead often brings the whole room back, as long as the fittings themselves are sound. If we find a deeper problem, you will hear it from us. In a small place like Kimpton, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.
There are no prices on our website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll talk you through it.
Why book with us

Can I do it myself?
If you are set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that is fine. We cut it out and start again, so just mention it when you contact us.
What we cannot put right
It helps to know what we can’t do:
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
- A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded
- A tray or bath that’s cracked through
If in doubt, call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will say what we think.
Surfaces we seal
- Basins & vanity units
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Wet rooms
- Sinks & splashbacks
- Baths
- Kitchen worktops & upstands

How to look after the new joints
Looking after new joints is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then
- Stick to a soft cloth and a mild cleaner
- Run the extractor fan during and after every shower
Wipe up standing water along the worktop joint and keep hot pans off the bead. A dry joint lasts longer.
A few black dots in the silicone soon become a black line. Once it’s deep in the silicone, cleaning generally will not remove it. Replacing the sealant early keeps the job small.
Bathroom resealing around Kimpton
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Rented homes near Grateley station change hands often, and fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay. Homes close to Church of St Peter and St Paul include some older properties, and timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.
