Bathroom resealing in Hedgerley

Bathroom resealing for homes and businesses in Hedgerley

Resealing is a small job that makes a big difference. Black, patchy sealant makes clean tiles look tired, and a clean white or clear joint fixes it quickly. It also seals the gaps that let water behind the bath. If you are dealing with leaking joints on a shower screen and splits where the tray meets the wall, we can put it right, on baths, basins & vanity units and wet rooms alike.

Somewhere as small as Hedgerley, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Movement in older walls and floors tends to show first as cracked grout or split sealant.

We stand behind the work with a 12-month guarantee.

How to look after the new joints

Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Squeegee the walls and tray after use
  • Avoid abrasive pads on the sealant
  • Open a window or run the fan so the room dries
  • Don’t leave water standing on kitchen joints

Good ventilation does more than any cleaner. Use the fan, or open a window, while you bathe and for a while afterwards, so the bead dries out between uses.

Mould that starts as a few spots spreads through the bead. When it has grown right through, it rarely cleans out. Catching it early keeps it a simple reseal.

Bathrooms and kitchens in Hedgerley

Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

For landlords with property near Gerrards Cross station, mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets. In the older streets around Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. Schools such as Farnham Common Junior School are buildings too, and washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

Why act early in Hedgerley

A clean new bead makes a room look cared for, which matters if you’re letting a property or selling it. A smeared, uneven DIY bead does the opposite. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Hedgerley, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.

Homes and businesses are quoted the same way: the amount of work, how we reach it and what it needs, plus any working-time requirements on site. Ask us for a quote and we’ll go through it with you.

What you get with us

  • A 12-month guarantee on all work
  • White, clear, grey or another colour, product permitting
  • We leave the area clean and tidy
  • Trusted Arbo and Everbuild sealants

Take a look at how sealant jobs are priced and what customers say.

How we quote for bathroom resealing

The price is agreed before any work begins. It’s based on:

  • How easy the joints are to reach
  • The type of sealant required
  • How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
  • The old material and how stubborn it is

We don’t show prices on the website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. Call for a quick quote and we’ll talk you through it.

Helping us quote

When you call or email, it’s useful to know:

  • Any access issues, like height or stairs
  • Any previous sealing or DIY work
  • Where the property is
  • The rough size of the job

We don’t publish a price list. Instead, we give you a clear price for your job. To arrange one, ring 0345 464 0079 or email us.

Where is Mr Mastic based?

Our base is Crawley. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.

How long will the resealing take?

It takes a couple of hours for a single bath or shower. We’ll confirm how long your job needs when we quote.

When can I use the bath or shower again?

Around 24 hours is typical, and we confirm the time for the product used. Using it sooner can damage the bead.

What should I tell you?

The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. Photos by email help too.

Do you guarantee your resealing?

Yes. Every job carries our one-year guarantee, and we are fully insured.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course. Combining jobs makes good use of the visit.

The process

Every visit runs the same way: we check the joints, protect the area around them, carry out the job and clear up. Most jobs take half a day or less for one room, longer when the kitchen is included. Somewhere as small as Hedgerley, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.

  1. Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
  2. Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
  3. We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
  4. Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
  5. We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
  • Clear the area around the work
  • Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints

Advice

Can I do it myself?

Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.

A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, like a short, easy-to-reach joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses

From a single let to a portfolio, the work is the same standard: the old material taken out, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee.

For anyone letting property in or around Hedgerley, jobs at different addresses can go on one quote. Send us the addresses and the work at each, and pictures by email help.

What we can’t put right

We’d rather tell you now than do work that will not last, so here’s what sealant can’t put right:

  • Cracked or missing grout between tiles (that is regrouting)
  • Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint
  • A bath or tray that moves because it isn’t properly supported

If in doubt, ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will say what we think before you book.
