What happens if it’s left?

The difference in a professional reseal is mostly what you do not see: cutting out every trace of the old bead, cleaning, treating mould and letting the joint dry. Without that preparation, the new bead will not last. In a smaller place like Deepcut, wherever a wall is exposed, a failed outside joint is a real source of damp. Inside, a split seal lets water into floors and panels just as it would anywhere.

Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: how much there is to do, how we reach it and what it needs, plus any working-time requirements on site. Call for a quick quote and we will explain what it covers.

Bathroom resealing for homes and businesses in Deepcut

Sealant is the soft line between a bath, shower or worktop and the wall. Once it cracks or goes mouldy, water starts to find its way through into walls, panels and floors. Our team cut the old bead out completely and lay a new one in anti-fungal sanitary silicone. We are often asked to deal with gaps where the bath or tray has moved and damp behind the bath or under the tray, across kitchen worktops & upstands, baths and sinks & splashbacks.

In a smaller place like Deepcut, homes are mostly houses and bungalows rather than flats, some older and some much newer. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do in a big town.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we will sort it.

What affects the quote in Deepcut

There’s no set price list. The quote depends on:

  • Working hours on commercial sites
  • The old material and how stubborn it is
  • How easy the joints are to reach
  • Whether there’s mould to deal with

A few things move the cost up or down: the old material and how easily it comes out, any mould to treat, and whether we need extra access for height. Your quote takes all of that into account.

Asking for a quote

What to tell us when you ask for a quote:

  • Whether it’s a home or a business
  • A few pictures by email, if you can
  • Whether it has been sealed before
  • The address or postcode of the job

It all starts with a short chat. Describe the problem, the location and the size of the job. Whenever you are ready, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.

Looking after it afterwards

Joint life depends on how it’s used and looked after. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Avoid abrasive pads on the sealant
  • Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
  • Do not let bottles sit on the bead
  • Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then

Mould needs damp, so keep the room aired. Run the extractor fan during and after a shower, so the silicone gets a chance to dry.

A failed kitchen joint is easy to miss. Splashes run behind the back edge and soak into the worktop, and the board underneath can swell. Resealing before that happens protects the worktop.

Your questions about bathroom resealing in Deepcut

Do you cover Deepcut for bathroom resealing?

Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Deepcut is part of that. Just call 0345 464 0079 or email us with a few details of the job, and we will give you a clear quote.

Can you help a landlord with a rental near Farnborough North station?

Yes, rental work is part of what we do. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and tell us about the property, and we will give you a clear quote.

Can I choose the colour of the sealant?

You’re not limited to white: clear, white and colours chosen to suit the room. We will talk it through when we quote.

Where do you work from?

Our base is in Crawley, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.

Can you work on commercial sites?

Yes. We work in offices, washrooms, hotels and other commercial premises, as well as homes. Working times can be discussed when we quote.

Do the sealants smell?

There can be a smell while the sealant cures, but it fades. Opening a window helps.

Does the resealing come with a guarantee?

Yes, a one-year guarantee. Looking after the joint as we suggest helps it last.

Do I need to be at home?

That depends on where the joints are. Inside work needs someone to give us access.

Deepcut homes and their sealant

Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

Common problems we fix in Deepcut

Plenty of failed sealant has been laid over the top of older sealant. Fresh silicone cannot grip the old bead underneath, so it lifts, lets water in and traps mould underneath.

Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:

  • Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
  • A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
  • Leaking joints on a shower screen
  • Black mould in the silicone that won’t clean off

Schools such as Sandringham Infant & Nursery School are buildings too, and washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

When it isn’t the sealant

In fairness, some problems need a different trade:

  • Tiles that have come away from the wall
  • Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
  • Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant

Not sure which it is? You can phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What we seal

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Sinks & splashbacks
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & upstands
  • Basins & vanity units

Surface by surface

Sinks & splashbacks

Splashbacks in glass, tile or acrylic meet the worktop in a long joint. We renew it in clear, white or a matched colour.

Kitchen worktops & upstands

Upstands and back edges are cut out, cleaned of grease and resealed, since cooking leaves a film that stops silicone sticking. Proper degreasing is what helps the new joint last.

The process

Most of a good job is in the preparation, so that is where we spend the time. Every joint is cleaned and dried before new material goes in. All told, the work takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers. In a smaller place like Deepcut, parking is seldom the issue; lanes, gates and long drives are worth mentioning. For outside work, side access and the height of the joints help us plan.

  1. First the area is protected and every bit of old sealant removed, including the film left on the tiles.
  2. The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
  3. Once it’s dry, any bath is filled so the bead is laid with it at its heaviest.
  4. We apply anti-fungal sanitary silicone in one even bead and tool it neatly.
  5. We clear away and tell you when it can get wet, normally after around 24 hours.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move anything stored near the joints
  • Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height
  • Mention any parking rules near the property
