  • Leaking joints on a shower screen

Bathroom resealing for Crow homes and businesses

Bathroom resealing for homes and businesses in Crow

Across Crow, the joints we reseal are the ones that fail in any home: bath edges, tray joints, basin backs and kitchen upstands. Each one is stripped, cleaned and dried before new silicone goes in. If you have smears of silicone across the tiles and gaps between the worktop and the wall, we can help, on sinks & splashbacks, wet rooms and baths alike.

For a small place like Crow, bathroom resealing is planned like any other job: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.

You are covered for a year from the day we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please ring 0345 464 0079 or email us.

Why act early in Crow

A quick bead over the top of the old one might look better for a while, but it will not bond. It lifts, traps water and grows mould behind it, so the next person has twice as much to remove. Older cottages and farmhouses around Crow can have timber floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.

What you pay reflects the work, not a rough estimate. That’s why we ask about the job first and agree the price before starting.

Your questions about bathroom resealing in Crow

Is bathroom resealing in Crow guaranteed?

All our work, in Crow and everywhere else, comes with a 12-month guarantee. We are fully insured, and an ARBOMaster approved applicator.

Can you do bathroom resealing in Crow?

Yes. We work across London and the South East, and Crow is part of that. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and tell us what needs doing.

Will it make a mess?

Very little: the area around the joints is protected first, and we clear up the old sealant and our materials before we leave.

Can you do several jobs on one visit?

Yes, we can. Several rooms, windows or areas can go on one quote.

Can mouldy silicone be sorted out?

Yes. The old sealant comes out, the mould is treated, and we reseal with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.

Do you work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for householders, landlords, letting agents, businesses and hotels across Hampshire.

When can I use the bath or shower again?

After around 24 hours in most cases. We will tell you the cure time for the product we used.

Where do you work from?

Our base is Crawley, with over 20 years’ experience. We work across South East England, London and Scotland.

Do you need bathroom resealing in Crow?

A bath shifts a little every time it’s filled and emptied. Acrylic in particular gives slightly under the weight of water and a person, while a poorly supported tray can shift underfoot. Over time the joint tears or pulls away from the tile.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Smears of silicone across the tiles
  • Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
  • Leaking joints on a shower screen
  • Gaps where the bath or tray has moved

In and around Crow, as anywhere, good bathroom resealing starts with a clean, dry, properly prepared joint.

Choosing a sealant specialist

DIY sealant or a professional job?

If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.

If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We remove it and do the joint properly.

The process

On the day, we start by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. We protect the surfaces around the joints before we start. Most jobs take half a day or less for one room, longer when the kitchen is included. For a village or hamlet like Crow, the journey is planned in advance: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.

  1. We protect the area and cut out all of the old sealant, including the film left on the tiles.
  2. We clean and degrease the joint and treat any mould.
  3. Once it’s dry, any bath is filled so the bead is laid with it at its heaviest.
  4. We apply anti-fungal sanitary silicone in one even bead and tool it neatly.
  5. We clear away and tell you when it can get wet, normally after around 24 hours.

Preparing for the visit

  • Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
  • Tell us if parking is tricky

Looking after it afterwards

After the cure time, these simple habits help:

  • Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
  • Run the extractor fan during and after every shower
  • Check the joints every few months for splits or lifting
  • Wipe the sealant dry after showering

Good ventilation does more than any cleaner. Use the fan, or open a window, while you bathe and for a while afterwards, so the bead dries out between uses.

Mould that starts as a few spots spreads through the bead. Once it’s deep in the silicone, cleaning generally won’t remove it. Catching it early keeps it a simple reseal.

When it is not the sealant

New sealant cannot fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. It will not solve:

  • Leaks from a shower valve, waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
  • A tray or bath that’s cracked through
  • Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler

Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
