Bathroom Resealing in Hightown
Bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing for homes and businesses in Hightown and across Hampshire. Fully insured, ARBOMaster approved and guaranteed for a year.
- Mouldy sealant that has gone black
- A reseal done over the top of the old bead
- Splits where the tray meets the wall
Signs you need bathroom resealing in Hightown
Plenty of failed sealant has been laid over the top of older sealant. Fresh silicone cannot grip the old bead underneath, so it peels, leaks and hides mould behind it.
Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:
- Two layers of silicone, both failing
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
- Gaps between the worktop and the wall
- Failed sealant on the screen profile
Schools such as Ringwood Junior School are buildings too, and washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

Bathroom resealing in Hightown
Showers work their sealant harder than baths. Tray edges, screen profiles and wet room joints all rely on silicone to stay watertight. Each gets a bead of anti-fungal sanitary silicone, tooled smooth so water runs off instead of sitting in a ridge. We work on wet rooms, kitchen worktops & upstands and basins & vanity units, and common reasons people get in touch are cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone and shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop.
Homes around Hightown are mostly houses and cottages rather than flats. The work is the same as anywhere: everything old comes out before the new sealant or grout goes in.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

Hightown questions
Do you cover Hightown for bathroom resealing?
Yes. We work across London and the South East, and Hightown is part of that. You can call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us what needs doing, and we will send you a clear quote.
Do you cover smaller places like Hightown?
Yes. Hightown is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
What information do you need?
The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. Photos by email help too.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes, every time. New silicone does not stick to old silicone, so the joint is cleaned back first.
Are you an approved applicator?
Yes. We are an ARBOMaster approved applicator.
Can I choose the colour of the sealant?
Most people choose white or clear, but other colours can be used to suit tiles and worktops. Tell us what you’d like when you get in touch.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
How long will the resealing take?
It takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen. We will confirm how long your job needs when we quote.
The process
Our applicators work methodically: protection first, then preparation, sealing and a tidy-up. Typically it takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom, and the area is left clean. In a small place like Hightown, access is usually the main thing to plan. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- First, each joint is checked for movement and signs of water.
- The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you’re told the cure time, usually around 24 hours.
Before we arrive
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
- Clear items away from the joints we’re working on
- Let us know about parking restrictions

What else we do in Hightown
Hightown homes and their sealant
There are hotels and other places to stay in and around Hightown. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room. Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
For an older house near a landmark such as St John the Baptist, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.

Aftercare tips
To keep the joints looking good and working properly:
- Wipe the sealant dry after showering
- Never pick at the silicone with a blade
- Stick to a soft cloth and a mild cleaner
- Keep the fan on for a while after bathing
Keep bottles and razors off the sealant line, as they hold water against it. Squeegeeing the walls and tray after use keeps water from sitting on the joint.
There’s no need to wait for a full refurbishment. Sealant is a maintenance item, like the paint on a window frame, and renewing it as soon as it fails protects everything around it.
How the job changes by surface
Baths
The long joint down the side of a bath is where most leaks start, particularly where there’s a shower over the bath. We finish it with a single, even bead of anti-fungal silicone.
Basins & vanity units
On a basin, neatness shows: so we keep the line tidy and even, finished in a colour that suits the basin.
What we can’t put right
We’d rather tell you now than do work that will not last, so here’s what sealant can’t put right:
- Failed grout lines across the wall
- A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded
- Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
If you are not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will give you a straight answer.

What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. The main factors:
- Any working-time requirements on site
- The size of the job
- The type of sealant required
- Any mould that needs treating
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all make a difference, and we’ll explain the quote if you ask.
Helping us quote
You don’t need to know the technical terms. Just tell us:
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
Call for a quick quote, or send an email if you’d rather. Describe what needs sealing and we will talk you through the work before giving you a price.
