Bathroom Resealing in Christmas Pie
Specialist bathroom resealing for Christmas Pie: careful preparation, the right product and tidy work. Call for a quick quote.
- Gaps between the worktop and the wall
- Leaking joints on a shower screen
- Gaps where the bath or tray has moved
Do you need bathroom resealing in Christmas Pie?
Baths and trays move. An acrylic bath flexes under load, and a tray that isn’t fully bedded can rock. Over time the joint tears or pulls away from the tile.
The problems people usually mention when they call include:
- Splits where the tray meets the wall
- Leaking joints on a shower screen
- Leaks into the floor or ceiling below
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
Rented homes near Wanborough station change hands often, and mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets.

About our bathroom resealing in Christmas Pie
With over 20 years in the trade, we reseal baths, showers and kitchens in homes across Christmas Pie. We are fully insured ARBOMaster approved applicators, and every job carries our 12-month guarantee. Typical jobs include two layers of silicone, both failing and water getting behind the bath panel, across basins & vanity units, sinks & splashbacks and shower trays & enclosures.
Homes around Christmas Pie are mostly houses and cottages rather than flats, some with bathrooms tucked into older rooms or extensions. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and a fresh finish laid.
Your job is guaranteed for a year, as with all our work.

Why it’s worth doing now in Christmas Pie
Running new silicone over the old joint can look tidy for a few weeks, but it cannot stick to what’s underneath. Water creeps under it and mould follows. Around Christmas Pie, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, whether mould needs treating, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.

Aftercare tips
Good habits help new joints last longer. A few tips:
- Move toiletries away from the joint
- Give the silicone its full cure time
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
- Stick to a soft cloth and a mild cleaner
Give the silicone time to cure before it gets wet, following the cure time we give you. After that, a quick wipe after showering helps keep it clean.
A split bead lets water through every time the bath or shower is used. Over time that water reaches floors, walls and ceilings. Early resealing closes the gap before damage is done.
What sealant work cannot fix
It helps to know what we cannot do too:
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
- Failed grout lines across the wall
- Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
If in doubt, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will say what we think.

What the job involves on each surface
Wet rooms
A wet room floor and its walls can move independently, so the corners need a flexible seal, not grout. Where grout in a corner has cracked, we can replace it with sealant.
Kitchen worktops & upstands
Laminate worktops swell if water gets into the core. A continuous bead along the back keeps water out, as long as the worktop itself is firmly fixed.
Christmas Pie: your questions answered
I let a flat near Wanborough station. Can you help?
Yes, we work for letting agents and landlords. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before we start.
Do you cover smaller places like Christmas Pie?
Yes, we do. Our work covers London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
My sealant has gone black. Can you sort it?
Yes, by replacing the sealant. Sprays can fade the marks, but cutting it out and resealing is what lasts. Airing the room well helps stop it returning.
Where are you based?
We are based in Crawley, West Sussex, and we work across South East England, London and Scotland.
Is it worth trying it myself?
It depends on the job. High-level, external movement and fire-rated joints are professional jobs.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Several rooms, windows or areas can go on one quote.
What should I tell you?
The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. If you can, email a few pictures.
How long does it take to reseal a bath or shower?
It depends on how many joints there are and how much old sealant has to come out. Allow a couple of hours for a typical bath or shower.
What we do, step by step
When we arrive, we look over the joints with you first. We protect the surfaces around the joints before work begins. Most jobs take two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is. Somewhere like Christmas Pie needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- First the area is protected and every bit of old sealant removed.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- The joint is left to dry, and baths are filled with water first.
- New anti-fungal silicone goes on in a colour to suit and is tooled to a clean finish.
- We clear away and tell you when it can get wet, generally after around 24 hours.
Before we arrive
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
- Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit
- Clear the area around the work

Advice
Christmas Pie homes and their sealant
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Homes close to Church of St Bartholomew include some older properties, and bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Puttenham CofE Infant School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
