- Water escaping at the shower enclosure
Why it’s worth doing now in Bray
You don’t need a new bathroom because the sealant looks bad. Replacing the joint is usually all it takes, provided the bath, tray and tiles are in good order. If we find a deeper problem, you’ll hear it from us. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Bray, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
The cost reflects the work involved, not a rough estimate. That is why we ask about the job first.
Why Bray customers choose us
- We leave the area clean and tidy
- Anti-fungal sanitary silicone in wet areas
- Homes, businesses and hotels
- 20+ years of sealant experience
Bathroom resealing for homes and businesses in Bray
It isn’t only bathrooms. Worktop upstands, sink edges and splashback joints all take splashes every day, and water behind a laminate worktop can make it swell. We reseal them with a kitchen-suitable silicone, matched to the worktop where it’s on show. Common call-outs are for mouldy sealant that has gone black and a reseal done over the top of the old bead, across shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and baths.
Somewhere as small as Bray, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by our 12-month guarantee in Bray and across Windsor and Maidenhead.

Aftercare tips
So the new joints stay in good condition:
- Move toiletries away from the joint
- Open a window or run the fan so the room dries
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
- Wait for the cure time we give you
Wipe up standing water along the worktop joint. The drier the joint stays, the longer it lasts.
Mould that starts as a few spots spreads through the bead. When it has grown right through, it rarely cleans out. Replacing the sealant early keeps the job small.

FAQs for Bray
Will you come out to Bray?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
I let a flat near Taplow station. Can you help?
Yes. We work for landlords and letting agents as well as homeowners. Just call 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and what needs doing, and we’ll give you a clear price.
Can you do several jobs on one visit?
Yes, we can. More than one area can be quoted together.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes, every time. New sealant won’t bond properly to old, so the joint is cleaned back first.
How long before the new sealant can get wet?
Around 24 hours is typical, and we confirm the time for the product used. Getting it wet too early can spoil the new joint.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. Larger jobs can be planned room by room or area by area to suit the site.
Is it OK to put new sealant on top of the old bead?
No, and it’s one of the main reasons reseals fail. The old joint is stripped, cleaned and resealed from scratch.
Are you ARBOMaster approved?
Yes. We hold ARBOMaster approved applicator status and we are fully insured too.
When to call us in Bray
Baths and trays move. An acrylic bath flexes under load, while a poorly supported tray can shift underfoot. That movement works at the bead until it splits or peels away.
If you can see any of these, it’s time to have the joints looked at:
- Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
- Mouldy sealant that has gone black
- A reseal done over the top of the old bead
Managing a site like Dorney School? Then washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.
What to look for in a quote
- How much experience the applicator has
- What happens if they find a problem under the old sealant
- What product goes in the joint
- What the quote includes, VAT included or not
Bray homes and their sealant
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings. Bray has hotels and guest accommodation nearby. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room.
In the older streets around St Michael's Church, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. If you let a flat or house near Taplow station, a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for.

Surface by surface
Baths
Most bath leaks begin along the long edge, particularly where there’s a shower over the bath. We finish it with a single, even bead of anti-fungal silicone, tooled so water can’t sit on it.
Sinks & splashbacks
The edge of an inset sink is a common place for water to get under the worktop. Where the sealant around the visible edge has failed, we renew it.
How we quote for bathroom resealing
The price is agreed before any work begins. It takes into account:
- How much there is to do
- How many areas need sealing
- Whether the work is at height
- When we can work, for business premises
What it costs depends on how much there is to do, how hard the old material is to remove and access to the work. You will have a clear quote before any work starts.
Asking for a quote
Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Try to tell us:
- Photos by email, if that is easy
- The problem you’ve noticed
- The type of property
- The address or postcode of the job
There’s no standard price list. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To get started, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
The process
All our tools and materials come with us in the van, so you don’t need to buy or prepare anything. Once we’ve agreed what’s being done, the area is protected and the work begins. Most jobs take a couple of hours for a single bath or shower. Somewhere as small as Bray, access is often the only tricky part. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- First, each joint is checked for movement and signs of water.
- The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you are told the cure time, normally around 24 hours.
Before we arrive
- Clear the area around the work
- Keep pets and children clear of the area while we work
- Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
How to get a quote
Getting a quote is simple: let us know the job and the location, and roughly how big it is. Photos by email help us understand the job.

DIY sealant or a professional job?
Not every job suits DIY: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs need the right product, the right access and the right method.
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, such as a straightforward joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
