Window Mastic in Corsehill
Our applicators work in Corsehill on mastic around window and door frames, sills and patio doors. Old material cut out, joints cleaned and sealed neatly and a one-year guarantee.
- Whistling draughts around closed windows
- Untidy mastic left by window fitters
- Leaking joints at the ends of sills
What we do, step by step
Every visit runs the same way: we look at the joints together, mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, carry out the job and tidy away. It normally takes a few hours for a handful of frames, longer for a whole house. Around Corsehill, distance and access matter more than parking. Let us know how to find you and how to reach the joints.
- We check how each frame can be reached safely.
- All the failed sealant is cut away, along with any loose debris.
- Frame and wall are cleaned and must be dry before sealing.
- Deep voids are backed, then the sealant is gunned in.
- We tool the joint so water runs off, then clear up.
Getting ready for the visit
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
- Move anything stored near the joints
- Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit

How we handle window mastic in Corsehill
Homes in Corsehill have every kind of window: from uPVC casements to timber and aluminium, along with patio doors, French doors and sills. Each gets a sealant chosen for the frame and the wall it meets. We work on timber windows & doors, window sills and patio & French doors, and the jobs we see most are cracked or shrunken mastic around the frame and untidy mastic left by window fitters.
Outdoor sealant needs a dry surface, so window work around Corsehill is planned around the weather, and longer journeys are planned in advance. Tell us about access to all the windows and doors, upstairs included.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after we have gone.

Quotes for window mastic in Corsehill
We quote each job individually. This is what makes a difference:
- Any working-time requirements on site
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- Access and height
Leaving a failed joint usually makes the job bigger, not smaller, as water and mould keep getting in. If you’re not sure whether it needs doing, send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk for an honest opinion and a quote.
What to tell us for a quote
What to tell us when you ask for a quote:
- The address or postcode of the job
- The problem you’ve noticed
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
- Whether it has been sealed before
We do not publish a price list. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To arrange one, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk.
Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
In hotels, rooms out of use cost money, so the work can be planned room by room around your bookings where we can. Hotel work is part of what we do, alongside homes and businesses.
Water getting past a failed joint can damage the building, which is a bigger problem in a rented property. Keeping joints in good order is simple maintenance that we can handle for you.
Keeping the joints in good condition
Looking after new joints is easy:
- Clean frames with a soft cloth and soapy water
- Wipe condensation off the frames
- Avoid harsh chemicals near the mastic
- Walk round the house once a year and look at the joints
Timber frames need their paint kept up, because bare, wet timber moves more and pulls at the joint. Keep paint off the silicone itself.
A small gap around a frame only grows. As the old mastic shrinks further, more air gets through, and a cold room gets colder. Resealing closes it.
Window mastic in Corsehill: local notes
Sash and case windows are common in older Scottish homes, and the joint between the box frame and the stone or render is traditionally pointed with sand mastic. Aberdeen’s nickname, the Granite City, comes from its stone buildings, and sealing against granite needs clean, sound edges and a sealant that suits stone.
If you let a flat or house near Dyce station, renewing tired window mastic between tenants heads off draught and damp complaints. Managing a site like Dyce Academy? Then its window and door frames need their mastic kept sound, just like a home’s.

Common questions in Corsehill
Do you cover Corsehill for window mastic?
Yes, Corsehill is within the area we cover. We work across all of Scotland. Just drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk with a few details of the job, and we will send you a clear quote.
Do you cover smaller places like Corsehill?
Yes. Corsehill is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We work across all of Scotland. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Should I try DIY first?
That depends on the joint. Work at height, movement joints, fire-rated gaps and large areas are best left to a professional.
Are you insured?
Yes. Mr Mastic is fully insured.
What information do you need?
The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. If you can, email a few photos.
Can new window sealant be painted?
Silicone generally will not take paint. Let us know beforehand, and we will use a paintable product where it suits.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes, we can. More than one area can go on one quote.
Where do you work from?
Mr Mastic is based in Crawley. We cover Corsehill and the rest of Aberdeen, along with the rest of our area.
What happens if it’s left?
A cracked joint around a frame lets rain into the wall. Over time that can mean damp patches, damaged plaster and rotting timber. Resealing now is a small job by comparison. In an older home around Corsehill, damp from a failed joint can get into timber and plaster, which is a far bigger job than the sealant.
Doing several joints on one visit is normally more efficient than separate visits. We will give you a clear quote for the lot.

When it is not the sealant
In fairness, there are a few things sealant will not fix:
- Rotten timber, which needs a joiner first
- A door that needs adjusting, rehanging or new seals
- A failed sealed unit that has misted up
If in doubt, drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we’ll say what we think.
Joints and surfaces we work on
- Window sills
- Patio & French doors
- Aluminium frames
- Composite doors
- uPVC windows
- Timber windows & doors
Can I do it myself?
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is, then guaranteed for a year.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.
