Remedial sealant & repairs in Mosspark, Glasgow
Removing failed, mouldy or leaking sealant and putting it right for homes and businesses in Mosspark and across Glasgow. Fully insured, ARBOMaster approved and guaranteed for a year.
- Worktop sealant that has shrunk and split
- Sealant peeling off a dusty or damp surface
- Sealant applied over old sealant that has lifted
What sealant work can’t fix
Some problems need a builder, plumber or other trade rather than us:
- Plumbing leaks behind walls or under trays
- Old mastic in a building from before 2000 that should be checked for asbestos before it’s disturbed
- Failed tanking or loose tiles behind the sealant
Not sure which it is? You can email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we will tell you honestly.

About our remedial sealant in Mosspark
The wrong product in the wrong joint will not last, however tidy it looks. Out it comes, and in goes a sealant suited to the job. If you’re dealing with repeat leaks from the same joint and sealant peeling off a dusty or damp surface, we can put it right, on shrunken worktop sealant, leaking tray & enclosure joints and failed movement joints alike.
Tenement flats are common in all four of Scotland’s big cities, alongside houses and newer flats. With flats above and below, a leak from a tired seal can reach the flat underneath.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right with it in that time, tell us and we will put it right.

Remedial sealant around Mosspark
Private landlords in Scotland must be registered and meet the Repairing Standard, which includes keeping fixtures and fittings in reasonable repair. Failed sealant around a bath or shower is worth sorting between tenancies. Scotland’s water is generally soft, so sealant and grout see less limescale than in much of England. Mould is another matter: a bathroom that stays damp still turns sealant and grout black.
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Craigton Primary School, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes. Letting a property close to Corkerhill station? Then botched sealant from a previous quick fix is easier to strip out between tenants.
Mosspark is about 2 miles south-west of Glasgow, in Glasgow. Across the G52 area, our applicators can take on remedial sealant. Mosspark is one of 183 towns and villages in Glasgow we cover.
Work in G52, G53 and G41 is quoted and booked the same way as anywhere else. If you need remedial sealant at a property on Airth Lane, Alcaig Road and Clunie Road or anywhere close by, we can help. Nearby, we also carry out remedial sealant in Nethercraigs (1 mile south-west), Halfway (1 mile north-west), Corkerhill (1 mile south-west), Craigton (1 mile north) and Dumbreck (1 mile north-east). We also work in nearby towns such as Hillhead (3 miles north-east), Dowanhill (3 miles north), Woodlands (3 miles north-east), Woodside (3 miles north-east), North Kelvinside (3 miles north-east) and Partickhill (3 miles north).

Movement & expansion joints
Movement joints in floors, walls and façades need a flexible sealant set to the right depth. We remove the failed sealant, fit backing and reseal with a low-modulus product.
Leaking trays & enclosures
A shower that leaks after resealing often has a tray that moves or an enclosure sealed on the wrong side. We check both before we reseal.
How it works
A visit follows a simple pattern: we look at the joints together, protect the area around them, do the work and tidy away. It generally takes a few hours for most joints, depending on how much old sealant has to come out. In a city area like Mosspark, parking may be by permit or pay-and-display, so tell us what’s nearby. For flats, mention the door entry system and any shared-stair arrangements.
- First we find out how and where the joint has failed.
- We strip the joint completely, removing any layers below.
- Next, any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- We use the right backing and sealant for any joint that moves.
- The new joint is tooled neatly and we explain anything else we found.
Before we arrive
- Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed
- Tell us if parking is tricky
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in

FAQs for Mosspark
I let a flat near Corkerhill station. Can you help?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. Just email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us about the property, and we will give you a clear quote.
Is Mosspark in your area for remedial sealant?
Yes. Our work covers the whole of Scotland, and Mosspark is part of that. You can drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and let us know what needs doing, and we will give you a clear quote.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Yes, we can. Several rooms, windows or areas can go on one quote.
Can you reseal a split movement joint?
Yes. We cut out the failed sealant, fit backing and reseal with a flexible product.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We’re fully insured, and we can confirm the details when we quote.
Is it worth trying it myself?
It depends on the job. High-level, external movement and fire-rated joints are professional jobs, while a short indoor joint may be within reach.
Where do you work from?
Mr Mastic is based in Crawley. Our applicators cover Mosspark, along with the rest of our area.
What if the leak is not the sealant?
That’s why we look for the cause first. If we find the leak is elsewhere, we tell you before going further.
Keeping the joints in good condition
So the new joints stay in good condition:
- Deal with small splits early
- Keep the room well ventilated
- Report a tray that rocks or a worktop that lifts
- Ask why a joint failed before redoing it
Watch the joint over the first few weeks, particularly where the original failure was caused by movement. Should anything change, send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk.
Mould trapped under over-sealed joints spreads unseen. When it finally shows, the whole bead needs to come out.
Can I do it myself?
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
How we quote for remedial sealant
We don’t publish a price list, because jobs vary so much. What we look at:
- The number and length of the joints
- The product the joint needs
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
A few things move the cost up or down: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, whether mould needs treating, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
Helping us quote
Before you ask for a quote, have a think about:
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- How we’d reach the joints
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
A good description makes for an accurate quote. Let us know the location, the problem and roughly how many joints.

Water getting past a failed joint can damage the building, which is a bigger problem in a rented property. Keeping joints in good order is simple maintenance.
