Regrouting in Ware, done properly

Across Ware, we regrout tiled showers, bathrooms and kitchens. Out comes the old grout, the joints are cleaned and new grout goes in, and we finish by resealing the edges. If you have corners filled with grout instead of silicone and grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned, we can put it right, whatever the surface.

In a town like Ware, older streets sit alongside newer estates, so bathrooms range from long-standing suites to recent refits. Whatever their age, sealant and grout tend to go before anything else.

Each job carries a 12-month guarantee, large or small.

Surface by surface

Wet rooms

Both the grout and the silicone in a wet room matter. We replace the grout and reseal the edges.

Kitchen splashbacks

Grout behind the hob and sink works hard. We regroute and reseal the worktop joint.

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses

A neglected joint can let water reach the structure, which is a bigger problem in a rented property. Resealing at the right time is simple maintenance.

Businesses can book us for washrooms, kitchens, offices and more. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.

Ware: your questions answered

Is regrouting in Ware guaranteed?

Every job comes with our 12-month guarantee, wherever it is. We are also fully insured and ARBOMaster approved.

Do you work for landlords with property near Ware station?

Yes. We work for landlords and agents as well as homeowners, and several properties can be quoted together. Just call 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and what needs doing, and we will give you a clear price.

Can you seal over the old sealant?

No, and we never do. It can look neat for a few weeks, but the new bead soon lifts. The old sealant has to come out completely.

How long will you be here?

A typical job takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area, including the preparation. We will confirm how long when we quote.

Is it messy?

We keep the work tidy. Nearby surfaces are protected.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Tell us about everything you’d like done.

What information do you need?

The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. Photos by email help too.

Do the sealants smell?

It depends on the product. Some products have a noticeable smell, others very little.

What we are called out for in Ware

Soap scum and limescale build up on grout that is hard to shift. In time the grout under it darkens and breaks down, and at that point, new grout is the better answer.

The most common problems we see are:

  • Grout that makes sound tiles look old
  • Gaps where the shower grout has gone
  • Cracked grout along the bath or tray
  • Grout in a colour the owner wants to change

Managing a site like Christ Church CofE (VA) Primary School and Nursery? Then we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.

10 questions to ask before you book

Keeping the joints in good condition

No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. Our tips:

  • Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
  • Keep the fan on after showering
  • Do not ignore a tile that feels loose
  • Clean grout with a mild bathroom cleaner

A squeegee or cloth over the tiles after use keeps water off the grout. Run the extractor fan or open a window to help it dry out.

Fixing grout early is a small job. Left for a few years, they can become a leak so it’s worth dealing with as soon as you spot it.

How we quote for regrouting

We do not publish a price list, because no two jobs are the same. The quote depends on:

  • Any mould that needs treating
  • How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
  • The product the joint needs
  • How easy the joints are to reach

Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: the amount of work, the access and the products needed. Ask us for a quote and we will explain what it covers.

What we need to know

To help us quote quickly, let us know:

  • If someone has resealed it before
  • The address or postcode of the job
  • If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
  • What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking

The more we know about the job, the more useful the quote. Tell us where the job is, what’s wrong and how much there is, and add photos by email if you can.

When it is not the sealant

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Movement in a stud wall or floor
  • Failed tanking or waterproofing under the tiles
  • Damaged tiles that need replacing

Not sure which it is? You can phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will tell you honestly.

Regrouting in Ware: local notes

Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.

If you live in an older home near Christ Church Ware, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. If you let a flat or house near Ware station, clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again.

How the visit works

We keep the work tidy and contained to the area we’re working on, so you can get on with your day. Expect the work to take a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room, and we explain the cure time before we leave. For a job in Ware, we need access to where the work is and somewhere nearby to park. If the job is outside, mention gates, side access and anything above ground floor.

  1. First we agree what’s being done and flag any loose tiles.
  2. Grout is raked out without chipping the tiles.
  3. Dust is cleared from every joint.
  4. The new grout goes in, then the tile faces are cleaned.
  5. We renew the silicone at the corners and edges.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear items away from the joints we’re working on
  • Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
