How the job changes by surface
Bathroom wall tiles
Whole bathroom walls can be regrouted in one visit or more, depending on the area. It’s a good time to change the grout colour.
Kitchen splashbacks
Kitchen grout collects grease and food splashes. Once it’s stained, new grout is often the only fix.
How we handle regrouting in Tackley
We check the tiles before any grout comes out. Loose or hollow tiles are pointed out first, because regrouting will not fix what’s behind them. Where the tiles are sound, regrouting gives the area a new lease of life. If you have splashback grout that has darkened and a grout colour that no longer suits the room, we can put it right, on wet rooms, shower walls and bathroom wall tiles alike.
For a small place like Tackley, regrouting is planned like any other job: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we are there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
You are covered for a year from the day we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

Tackley homes and their sealant
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
If you let a flat or house near Tackley station, a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant. Schools such as Tackley Church of England Primary School are buildings too, and its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

What we’re called out for in Tackley
Harsh cleaners and scrubbing wear grout away. Some bleaches and acid descalers break grout down with repeated use, leaving the joints sunken and rough.
It’s worth asking for a quote if you see:
- Floor grout that has worn and darkened
- Good tiles let down by tired grout
- Grout in corners that has cracked
- Grout in a colour the owner wants to change
In the older streets around Church of St Nicholas, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.

- What preparation is included

How the visit works
When we get to you, we compare the joints with what we discussed. If we find something unexpected, we talk it through with you first. After that, the work takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room. In a small place like Tackley, access is usually the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
- The old grout is removed to an even depth.
- The joints are vacuumed clean.
- We regrout the joints and clean the tile faces.
- Silicone goes into the corners and along the edges.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Move anything stored near the joints

Quotes for regrouting in Tackley
Every job gets its own quote. This is what makes a difference:
- The number and length of the joints
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
We do not show prices on the website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. For a quick quote, please call 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will talk you through it.

- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height

FAQs for Tackley
Will you come out to Tackley?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Is Tackley in your area for regrouting?
Yes, Tackley is within the area we cover. Our work covers London and the South East. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and let us know what needs doing.
What goes in the corners, grout or silicone?
Silicone. Grout belongs between the tiles and moving joints need sealant.
How soon can the shower be used after regrouting?
We’ll tell you on the day. It depends on the grout and the sealant used, so follow the time we give you.
Will it make a mess?
No. We protect the surfaces around the joints, and we clear up the old sealant and our materials before we leave.
Do the sealants smell?
Possibly a little. It fades as the sealant cures.
What sealant do you use?
The product depends on the job: anti-fungal sanitary silicone in wet areas, and other sealants where joints move or face the weather. Brands we use include Arbo and Everbuild.
Can I do it myself?
It depends on the job. High-level, external movement and fire-rated joints are professional jobs.
What we cannot put right
Some problems need a builder, plumber or other trade rather than us:
- Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
- A leaking wet room membrane
- Movement in a stud wall or floor
If in doubt, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll say what we think before booking.
What we seal
- Bathroom floors
- Kitchen splashbacks
- Wet rooms
- Shower walls
- Bathroom wall tiles
- Tiled floors
Looking after it afterwards
Looking after new joints is easy:
- Don’t ignore a tile that feels loose
- Skip wire brushes and scourers
- Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers on grout
- Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
Give the new grout the time we tell you before using the shower, so it can harden properly. After that, rinse the tiles after showering and let the room air.
Tiles can come away if failed grout is left. By then, new grout alone isn’t enough so early action pays.
