Regrouting for homes and businesses in Shripney

If you’ve been scrubbing grout that won’t come clean, the stain is often in the grout itself. Replacing it is the lasting answer, and it’s a chance to change the colour too. If you’re dealing with floor grout that has worn and darkened and stained grout that cleaning won’t shift, we can help, on tiled floors, shower walls and kitchen splashbacks alike.

Homes around Shripney are mostly houses and cottages rather than flats, some with bathrooms tucked into older rooms or extensions. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and a fresh finish laid.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right with it, phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

Mr Mastic applicator sealing the vertical joint between a glass shower screen and tiled wall

Surface by surface

Wet rooms

Both the grout and the silicone in a wet room matter. We replace the grout and reseal the edges.

Kitchen splashbacks

Splashback grout picks up grease and cooking stains. Once it’s stained, new grout is often the only fix.

Keeping the joints in good condition

So the new joints stay in good condition:

  • Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
  • Open a window or run the fan to clear steam
  • Have loose tiles looked at early
  • Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering

Check the corner silicone now and then. Corners flex, so the sealant there will need renewing in time.

Tiles can come away if failed grout is left. Once that happens, regrouting won’t fix it, so it’s worth acting early.

What we do, step by step

When we get to you, we compare the joints with what we discussed. If we find something unexpected, we talk it through with you first. Most jobs then take a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. Somewhere as small as Shripney, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.

  1. We check the tiles for any that are hollow or loose.
  2. We rake out the grout evenly, protecting the tile edges.
  3. We vacuum the joints so the new grout bonds.
  4. We regrout the joints and clean the tile faces.
  5. We finish with silicone in the moving joints.

Shripney questions

I let a flat near Bognor Regis station. Can you help?

Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before any work starts.

Do you cover smaller places like Shripney?

Yes. Shripney is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course. Doing several areas at once is usually more efficient, so mention them when you ask for a quote.

Can you regrout if a few tiles are loose?

Loose or hollow tiles are a sign of a problem behind them. Grout on its own won’t fix that, and we will tell you before we start.

Do I have to be there?

That depends on where the joints are. Inside work needs someone to give us access, and for outside work we will agree access with you when we book.

Where are you based?

Our base is Crawley. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.

Can new sealant go over the old?

No. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old sealant, and anything trapped underneath, including mould and water, stays there. We remove it all first.

Will the old sealant be removed?

Yes, always, and completely. New sealant will not bond properly to old, so any old material comes out before anything new goes in.

DIY sealant or a professional job?

Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and does not move well, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.

Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, like a short, easy-to-reach joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Shripney

Businesses can book us for washrooms, kitchens, offices and more. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.

From a single let to a portfolio, the work is the same standard: old sealant fully removed, joints prepared properly and a one-year guarantee.

Quotes for regrouting in Shripney

We do not publish a price list. The quote depends on:

  • The old material and how stubborn it is
  • Whether the work is at height
  • The type of sealant required
  • How many rooms, windows or areas are involved

There are no prices on our website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. Call for a quick quote.

Asking for a quote

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. When you ask for a quote, tell us:

  • Whether it has been sealed before
  • The problem you’ve noticed
  • Photos by email, if that’s easy
  • Roughly how big the job is

There’s no standard price list. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To get started, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

What we cannot put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or other trade rather than us:

  • Failed tanking or waterproofing under the tiles
  • Damaged tiles that need replacing
  • Water coming from plumbing rather than grout

If you’re not sure, just ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we seal

  • Bathroom floors
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen splashbacks
  • Shower walls
  • Bathroom wall tiles
  • Tiled floors

Regrouting in Shripney: local notes

Shripney is within about 3 miles of the coast. Near the coast, holiday lets and guest houses can see bathrooms used by one guest after another, and sealant and grout that work that hard wear out sooner. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

Letting a property close to Bognor Regis station? Then a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant. For an older house near a landmark such as Holy Cross Church, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. Schools such as Bersted Green Primary School are buildings too, and its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.
