How the job changes by surface

Shower walls

A shower wall is soaked daily, so its grout takes the most punishment. It normally fails first.

Corners and edges

Edges are resealed while we’re there, so the whole area is finished together.

Regrouting for homes and businesses in East Wickham

If you’ve been scrubbing grout that won’t come clean, the discolouration has normally soaked into the grout. Replacing it is the lasting answer, and it’s a chance to change the colour too. If you have stained grout that cleaning won’t shift and grout that makes sound tiles look old, we can put it right, on kitchen splashbacks, bathroom wall tiles and shower walls alike.

In much of London, period terraces have been converted into flats over the years, with bathrooms fitted into whatever space was available. Small, steamy rooms are where mould gets into sealant and grout fastest, and homes in East Wickham are no different.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right with it in that time, tell us and we’ll put it right.

Landlord and commercial work in East Wickham

Mouldy or split sealant often shows up at the end of a tenancy. Several properties can go on one quote.

For anyone letting property in or around East Wickham, several properties can be quoted together. Send us the addresses and the work at each.

What happens if it’s left?

Regrouting will not help where tiles have come away. We point that out first so you know what’s involved. Where the tiles are sound, regrouting is far less disruptive than retiling. Damp from a failed joint spreads quietly in older London brickwork and timber, and once it shows in East Wickham, the repair is bigger than a sealant job.

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all play a part, and we’ll explain the quote if you ask.

Signs you need regrouting in East Wickham

Some grout fails because it was mixed or laid badly. If it was mixed too wet or not pressed in firmly can wash out within a few years.

Most people get in touch after spotting something like this:

  • Cracked grout along the bath or tray
  • Cracked or crumbling grout lines
  • A grout colour that no longer suits the room
  • Grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned

For site and facilities teams at buildings such as East Wickham Primary Academy, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.

What your quote should include

  • Is VAT in the price?
  • Which sealant they’ll use, and why
  • Who does the work, and how experienced they are
  • How hidden problems are handled

Honest advice matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what sealant can’t fix:

  • Waterproofing that has failed below the tiling
  • A structure that flexes behind the tiles

FAQs for East Wickham

Is parking a problem for a job in East Wickham?

London parking needs a little planning, so let us know about permits, bays or a driveway when you book. That way the visit can be planned around it.

I let a flat near Welling station. Can you help?

Yes, landlords and agents are among the people we work for, and several properties can be quoted together. Just call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the address and what needs doing, and we will send you a clear quote.

How much does regrouting cost in East Wickham?

The cost depends on the size of the job, access and how much old sealant has to come out. Call for a quick quote and we will talk you through it.

Will it make a mess?

No. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.

Do you take out the old sealant first?

Yes. All of the old material is cut out and the joint cleaned.

Where are you based?

Our base is Crawley. We work across South East England, London and Scotland.

What information do you need?

The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. Photos by email help too.

Can you change the grout colour?

Yes. It’s the ideal time to change it. Tell us the colour you’d like when you ask for a quote.

How it works

When we arrive, we start by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. We protect the surfaces around the joints before any work begins. The work usually takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room. Many London jobs are in flats, so we come ready for stairs, narrow hallways and shared entrances. Mention any building rules, key holders or managing agents when you book.

  1. Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
  2. The old grout is removed to an even depth.
  3. The joints are vacuumed clean.
  4. New grout is pressed into the joints and the tiles are cleaned.
  5. We finish with silicone in the moving joints.

Preparing for the visit

  • Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit
  • Move anything stored near the joints

Advice

Keeping the joints in good condition

How long the joints last depends on use and care. We suggest:

  • Rinse the tiles after showering
  • Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
  • Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers on grout
  • Check the corner silicone every few months

Give the new grout the time we tell you before using the shower, so it can harden properly. From then on, a quick rinse after showering helps and let the room air.

If grout in the shower is washing out, act soon. Each shower drives water into the open joints and it can end up in the wall or the ceiling below.
