Deal Regrouting
We cover Deal for raking out old, cracked or stained grout and regrouting tiled walls and floors. Old material cut out, joints cleaned and sealed neatly and every job guaranteed for a year.
- Grout washed out of a shower
- Good tiles let down by tired grout
- Old grout in a dated colour
How we handle regrouting in Deal
We regroute showers, bathroom walls and floors, splashbacks and wet rooms. It can be a full room, others just the shower. Whatever the size, the method stays the same. If you have splashback grout that has darkened and discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles, we can put it right, whatever the surface.
In a town like Deal, older streets sit alongside newer estates, and bathrooms range from decades-old suites to brand-new ones. Whatever their age, sealant and grout tend to go before anything else.
We stand behind the work with a 12-month guarantee, so you are covered after we have gone.

Different surfaces, different methods
Kitchen splashbacks
Splashback grout picks up grease and cooking stains. Stained grout is best replaced.
Wet rooms
Wet room grout and sealant need to be in good order. We renew both.
Can I do it myself?
If you’re set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
Not every job suits DIY: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas need the right product, the right access and the right method.
Do you need regrouting in Deal?
A poor original job is a common cause. If it was mixed too wet or not pressed in firmly tends to wash out early.
If you can see any of these, it’s time to have the joints looked at:
- Grout stained black or orange that will not clean
- Greasy, stained grout behind the hob
- Cracked grout along the bath or tray
- Gaps where the shower grout has gone
If you let a flat or house near Deal station, clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again.
What to look for in a quote
- Whether the sealant suits the joint
- What the cure time is
- What insurance they hold
- Which colour the sealant will be
Aftercare tips
Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. We recommend:
- Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
- Use gentle cleaners on grout
- Get any tile that moves checked promptly
- Rinse soap off the tiles after each shower
Leave the area unused for as long as we advise, so it cures fully. After that, rinse the tiles after showering and let the room air.
If grout in the shower is washing out, act soon. Every shower pushes more water into the gaps, and that water can reach the wall or the floor below.
Quotes for regrouting in Deal
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. What affects the quote:
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- Any mould that needs treating
- The amount of work
- How easy the joints are to reach
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, any mould to treat, and whether the work is at height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
What we need to know
To help us quote quickly, please include:
- The rough size of the job
- Where the property is
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
- Any previous sealing or DIY work

What we do, step by step
On the day, there’s very little for you to do. Show us the job and we’ll take it from there. The work itself takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room, including the tidy-up. For a job in Deal, we need access to where the work is and somewhere nearby to park. For outside work, let us know about side access, gates and any upper-floor joints.
- Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
- We rake out the grout evenly, protecting the tile edges.
- The joints are vacuumed clean.
- We regrout the joints and clean the tile faces.
- Silicone goes into the corners and along the edges.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
- Keep children and pets away from the work area

Questions from Deal
Do you work in hotels near Deal?
Yes, hotels and guest houses are among the places we work. Rooms can be done a few at a time, so the building stays open.
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Deal station?
Yes. We work for landlords and letting agents as well as homeowners, and several properties can be quoted together. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the details for a clear quote.
Can you change the grout colour?
Yes, regrouting is the time to do it. Tell us the colour you’d like when you ask for a quote.
How do I get a quote for regrouting in Deal?
Every job is different, so each one gets its own quote. To get one, phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us what needs doing and where.
What sealant do you use?
It depends on the joint: sanitary silicone where it gets wet, and sealants suited to movement or weather elsewhere. We use products from Arbo and Everbuild.
Do you guarantee regrouting?
Every job comes with our 12-month guarantee, and we’re fully insured.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes, always, and completely. New sealant won’t bond properly to old, so the joint is cleaned back first.
Can new sealant go over the old?
No, it will not last. It can look neat for a few weeks, but the new layer lifts away from the old one. The old sealant has to come out completely.
Deal homes and their sealant
Deal is within about 1 mile of the coast. Near the coast, holiday lets and guest houses can see bathrooms used by one guest after another, which wears sealant and grout out faster than in a quiet home. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
If you look after a building such as Castle Community College, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes. Homes close to St Saviour's include some older properties, and timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.
