Bunnahabhain Regrouting
Problem with your tiled areas in Bunnahabhain? We remove the old material, prepare the joints and seal them properly, with a 12-month guarantee.
- Splashback grout that has darkened
- Grout that is cracking and breaking up
- Cracked grout along the bath or tray
Can I do it myself?
A DIY attempt does not rule out a professional job. We remove it and do the joint properly, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions, then guaranteed for a year.
Regrouting in Bunnahabhain, done properly
When grout stays dark however much you clean it, the discolouration has generally soaked into the grout. New grout is the fix that lasts, and it’s a chance to change the colour too. We work on shower walls, bathroom wall tiles and kitchen splashbacks, and the jobs we see most are good tiles let down by tired grout and stained grout that cleaning won’t shift.
Bathrooms in smaller places like Bunnahabhain work just as hard as those in the cities. Limescale is less of a problem with Scotland’s generally soft water, but mould still takes hold in damp sealant and grout.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by our 12-month guarantee in Bunnahabhain and across Argyll and Bute.

Surface by surface
Shower walls
A shower wall is soaked daily, so grout there works hardest. It’s often the first place grout washes out.
Bathroom wall tiles
Whole bathroom walls can be regrouted in one visit or more, depending on the area. It’s a good time to change the grout colour.
Regrouting around Bunnahabhain
Bunnahabhain is close to the coast. Coastal homes, holiday lets and guest houses can see heavy bathroom use in busy months, which wears sealant and grout out faster than in a quiet home. Scotland’s water is generally soft, so sealant and grout see less limescale than in much of England. But mould still grows into sealant and grout in a room that does not dry out.
In and around Bunnahabhain, as anywhere, good regrouting starts with a clean, dry, properly prepared joint. For jobs in and around Bunnahabhain, choosing the right material for each joint is as important as a tidy finish.

Your questions about regrouting in Bunnahabhain
Is Bunnahabhain within the area you cover?
Yes. Bunnahabhain is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers the whole of Scotland. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Is there a guarantee on regrouting in Bunnahabhain?
Every job comes with our 12-month guarantee, wherever it is. We’re fully insured, and an ARBOMaster approved applicator.
Where do you work from?
We work from Crawley. Our applicators cover Bunnahabhain, along with the rest of our area.
Should corners be grouted or sealed?
Internal corners and edges are sealed with flexible silicone. Grout in a moving joint soon cracks.
Are you insured?
Yes. We are fully insured, with over 20 years’ experience in sealant work.
Can tenants book the work?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
What do you put in the joint?
The product depends on the job: sanitary silicone where it gets wet, and sealants suited to movement or weather elsewhere. Brands we use include Arbo and Everbuild.
Can new sealant go over the old?
No, and we never do. It may look fine at first, but the new layer lifts away from the old one. The old sealant has to come out completely.
For landlords and businesses
We also work for property managers and facilities teams. Several sites can go on one quote, and we’re fully insured for the work.
Landlords and agents in Bunnahabhain can book us as well as householders. Resealing between tenancies is a simple way to keep a property in good order.
How we quote for regrouting
We don’t publish a price list. The quote depends on:
- Any mould that needs treating
- When we can work, for business premises
- How many areas need sealing
- The product the joint needs
No two jobs are quite the same, so we quote each one individually. Size, access and the product the joint needs all play a part, and we will explain the quote if you ask.
Helping us quote
Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Try to tell us:
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
For a quick quote, get us on the phone, or send an email if you’d rather. Tell us about the joints that need doing and we will explain what’s involved.
Why it’s worth doing now in Bunnahabhain
It’s tempting to fill a few cracks yourself, but patched grout rarely matches the rest and the old grout carries on failing. Doing the full area gives you one colour and sound joints throughout. Around Bunnahabhain, water from a failed joint in an older stone home can soak into timber and plaster, which is a far bigger job than the sealant.
There are no prices on our website, because each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a quick quote and we’ll talk you through it.

About regrouting
How the visit works
We bring everything the job needs with us. After a quick look at the joints together, we protect the area and start. It normally takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room. Outside jobs in Bunnahabhain need a dry day, because sealant won’t bond to a wet joint, so external jobs may need to move if the day turns wet. Indoor work goes ahead whatever the weather.
- We check the tiles for any that are hollow or loose.
- The old grout is removed to an even depth.
- The joints are vacuumed clean.
- New grout is pressed into the joints and the tiles are cleaned.
- We finish with silicone in the moving joints.
How to prepare
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
- Clear items away from the joints we’re working on
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
