Trusted regrouting in Blacknest

About our regrouting in Blacknest

Regrouting is generally paired with resealing. Grout is for the joints between tiles, but internal corners and edges flex, so they’re sealed with silicone rather than grout. Doing both at once leaves the whole area sound. We’re often asked to deal with a grout colour that no longer suits the room and grout that makes sound tiles look old, across bathroom floors, tiled floors and shower walls.

Somewhere as small as Blacknest, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Movement in older walls and floors tends to show first as cracked grout or split sealant.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by our 12-month guarantee in Blacknest and across Windsor and Maidenhead.

The process

All our tools and materials come with us in the van, so you don’t need to buy or prepare anything. Once we have agreed what’s being done, the area is protected and the work begins. Most jobs take anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. Somewhere like Blacknest needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. First we agree what’s being done and flag any loose tiles.
  2. Grout is raked out without chipping the tiles.
  3. The joints are cleaned out and vacuumed.
  4. The new grout goes in, then the tile faces are cleaned.
  5. Internal corners and edges are resealed.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking restrictions
  • Mention if the joints have been sealed before
  • Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed

It all starts with a short chat. Describe the problem, the location and the size of the job, and we will talk you through what we’d do. When it suits you, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.

Why act early in Blacknest

Once grout cracks, water can get behind the tiling. Leave it, and the adhesive or the wall behind can suffer, which turns a regrout into a retile. Dealing with it now keeps it small. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Blacknest, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.

What you pay reflects the work, not a rough estimate. That’s why we ask about the job first and agree the price before starting.

How we quote for regrouting

There’s no set price list, because no two jobs are the same. The quote depends on:

  • How easy the joints are to reach
  • How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
  • When we can work, for business premises
  • Whether there’s mould to deal with

There are no prices on our website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

What we need to know

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you ask for a quote, tell us:

  • The problem you’ve noticed
  • How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
  • If someone has resealed it before
  • If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel

We quote each job on its own, so start by telling us what you need. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the details and send pictures if you have them.

Different surfaces, different methods

Corners and edges

Edges are resealed while we’re there, so everything is renewed at once.

Wet rooms

In a wet room, the whole floor gets wet, so good grout is important. We check the tiles first.

What we cannot put right

It helps to know what we cannot do too:

  • Leaks from pipes, valves or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • Failed tanking or waterproofing under the tiles
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

If you’re not sure, just call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we seal

  • Bathroom wall tiles
  • Kitchen splashbacks
  • Shower walls
  • Wet rooms
  • Tiled floors
  • Bathroom floors

Aftercare tips

How long the joints last depends on use and care. We suggest:

  • Use a soft brush rather than a wire one
  • Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers on grout
  • Get any tile that moves checked promptly
  • Wipe water off the walls when you are done

If a tile starts to feel loose, get it looked at early. Movement will crack the new grout and lets water in.

If grout in the shower is washing out, act soon. Each shower drives water into the open joints, and that water can reach the wall or the floor below.

Bathrooms and kitchens in Blacknest

Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

For an older house near a landmark such as Holy Trinity Church, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. If you look after a building such as Holy Trinity CofE Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. If you let a flat or house near Sunningdale station, clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again.

Common questions in Blacknest

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Do you work for landlords with property near Sunningdale station?

Yes, we work for letting agents and landlords. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before we start.

Are you an approved applicator?

Yes. We’re an ARBOMaster approved applicator, which is run for the Arbo sealant brand.

How much does regrouting cost in Blacknest?

It depends on the job, so we quote each one individually. For a quick quote, ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with a short description of the job.

Do you do commercial work?

Yes, regularly. Larger jobs can be planned room by room or area by area.

Do the sealants smell?

Possibly a little. It fades as the sealant cures.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries a 12-month guarantee.

What should I tell you?

Let us know what needs doing and where. We will ask anything else we need to know.

Can I do it myself?

The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone will not bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.

Not every job suits DIY: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs call for the right materials, safe access and experience.
