Regrouting in The Village, Windsor and Maidenhead
Problem with your tiled areas in The Village? We cut out the old, prepare the joints and apply the right sealant, with a one-year guarantee.
- Grout that is cracking and breaking up
- Grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned
- Grout washed out of a shower
Regrouting for homes and businesses in The Village
Regrouting is generally paired with resealing. Grout is for the joints between tiles, but corners and edges move, so they need flexible silicone instead. Renewing both together means nothing is left half-done. If you have shower grout that has worn away and floor grout that won’t come clean, we can help, on bathroom wall tiles, shower walls and wet rooms alike.
Being in a small place like The Village makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
Our work is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you are.

Surface by surface
Bathroom floors
Floor grout takes foot traffic as well as water. It gets worn and dirty.
Shower walls
Shower walls get wet every day, so grout there works hardest. It’s often the first place grout washes out.
What regrouting looks like in The Village
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
If you look after a building such as Windsor Girls' School, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

When it is not the sealant
A few problems are outside what sealant work can do:
- Damaged tiles that need replacing
- Failed tanking or waterproofing under the tiles
- A floor or wall that keeps moving
Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will tell you honestly.

Keeping the joints in good condition
Good habits help new joints last longer. A few tips:
- Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
- Do not ignore a tile that feels loose
- Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
- Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers on grout
A squeegee or cloth over the tiles after use stops soap and water sitting on the grout. Ventilate the room well to help it dry out.
Tiles can come away if failed grout is left. By then, new grout alone isn’t enough so early action pays.
Should I try it myself first?
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, such as a straightforward joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
If you’re set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.

What happens on the day
When we arrive, we look over the joints with you first. We protect the surfaces around the joints before any work begins. Most jobs take anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. Somewhere like The Village needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- First we agree what’s being done and flag any loose tiles.
- Grout is raked out without chipping the tiles.
- The joints are cleaned out and vacuumed.
- The new grout goes in, then the tile faces are cleaned.
- We renew the silicone at the corners and edges.
Preparing for the visit
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
- Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints

Quotes for regrouting in The Village
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. What affects the quote:
- The product the joint needs
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- The number of rooms or windows
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all play a part, and we will explain the quote if you ask.
Asking for a quote
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you get in contact, it helps to mention:
- Roughly how big the job is
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- Whether it’s a home or a business
- What’s wrong with the joints now
There’s no standard price list, as no two jobs are quite the same. Instead, we give you a clear quote for your job. To get started, call 0345 464 0079 or email us.

Yes. ARBOMaster is the approved applicator scheme for Arbo sealants, and we are part of it.
Do I have to be there?
If the work is inside, we need someone to let us in. Once we’ve agreed the job, you do not need to watch us work.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. Mr Mastic is fully insured, and we’ve been doing sealant work for more than 20 years.
Is resealing included with regrouting?
In most cases, yes. The corners and edges should be silicone, and it makes sense to renew both together.
Is it worth trying it myself?
Sometimes. Preparation is everything: all the old sealant out, and a clean, dry joint. We can always put it right if it fails.
Common problems we fix in The Village
Movement behind the tiles cracks grout. That can be a loose tile, a flexing floor or a stud wall, so we check the tiles before work begins.
Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:
- Grout that’s cracking and breaking up
- Floor grout that will not come clean
- Grout in corners that has cracked
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
If you let a flat or house near Windsor & Eton Central station, a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant.
What to look for in a quote
- Which sealant they’ll use, and why
- What insurance they hold
- Which colour the sealant will be
- Whether they seal over old material or remove it
