Our bathroom resealing service in OX27
Kitchens need the same care as bathrooms. Worktop upstands, sink edges and splashback joints all take splashes every day, and water that gets into the back edge of a worktop can swell the board. We reseal them with a kitchen-suitable silicone, matched to the worktop where it’s on show. We are often asked to deal with damp behind the bath or under the tray and a reseal done over the top of the old bead, across basins & vanity units, wet rooms and shower trays & enclosures.
When we arrive, we look over the joints with you first. We protect the surfaces around the joints before work begins. The work normally takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers.
- We cover the area around the joints we are working on.
- We cut away the old sealant and clean off what’s left.
- We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
- Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
- The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.
Pricing in OX27
Instead of a standard rate, we look at what your job involves: the amount of work, the old material and the access. The price is agreed before we begin.
What you get with us
- Anti-fungal silicone where joints get wet
- Any old sealant cut out fully, not covered over
- Approved under the ARBOMaster scheme
- One-year guarantee on every job

Bathrooms and kitchens across OX27
Across OX27, from Bicester, Bure Park and Caversfield outwards, we see bathrooms and kitchens of every age. Family bathrooms, rented flats and hotel en suites all need their sealant and grout renewing in time.
From Victorian terraces to post-war new towns and modern estates, homes across the South East and London cover every era. Each needs the right sealant for its age and materials, wherever it is in OX27.
Caversfield: Managing a site like Southwold County Primary School? Then its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. For landlords with property near Bicester North station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.
Surface by surface
Baths
The long joint down the side of a bath is where most leaks start, particularly where there’s a shower over the bath. It gets one smooth bead of anti-fungal silicone, tooled so water cannot sit on it.
Sinks & splashbacks
Where a splashback meets the worktop, there’s a joint that catches every splash. It’s resealed in white, clear or a colour to suit.
How we quote for bathroom resealing
We don’t publish a price list, because jobs vary so much. What we look at:
- Whether the work is at height
- When we can work, for business premises
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, as water and mould keep getting in. If you are unsure, phone 0345 464 0079 or email us for an honest opinion and a quote.
Asking for a quote
To make quoting easier, please include:
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- The rough size of the job
- A few pictures by email, if you can
Every job is quoted individually, so start by telling us what you need. Simply phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and describe the job and send pictures if you have them.
Keeping the joints in good condition
Looking after new joints is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Do not leave water standing on kitchen joints
- Keep scourers and sharp tools away from the bead
- Move toiletries away from the joint
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
Do not stand bottles along the bead, as they hold water against it. Squeegeeing the walls and tray after use keeps water from sitting on the joint.
Each shower pushes a little more water through a failed joint. Left alone, it soaks into the floor, the wall behind the tiles or the ceiling below. Resealing early stops it.
DIY versus a professional finish
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, such as a straightforward joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
If you are set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.
What we’re called out for in OX27
Mould is the reason many people want their sealant replaced. Bathrooms without good ventilation give mould all the damp it needs, and mould that has grown into the silicone usually will not clean off.
The most common problems we see are:
- New sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
- Leaking joints on a shower screen
Questions from OX27
Do you guarantee your resealing?
Yes. Our one-year guarantee covers every job, and we are ARBOMaster approved applicators.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. Larger jobs can be planned room by room or area by area.
Do you do kitchens as well as bathrooms?
Yes. The old sealant is cut out and the joint degreased, because cooking grease stops silicone sticking, then we reseal in a colour to suit.
Can tenants book the work?
Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
Can you get rid of the black mould in my sealant?
Yes. Once mould has grown into the silicone, it generally cannot be cleaned out for good, so we cut it out, treat the joint and reseal with anti-fungal silicone.
What information do you need?
The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. If you can, email a few photos.
Are you an approved applicator?
Yes. We’re ARBOMaster approved, the scheme for applicators of Arbo sealants.
